In appearance, green dragons are quadrupedal and wingless, their underbellies an orange-brown shade. Like dragons in most other tales, green dragons are powerful, boasting impressive stamina, Strength, and Resilience, as well as the ability to breath fire. These serpents are more feral than most depictions in other media, however, displaying no ability for language or magic. Green dragons are not stupid though, as one plays an important role in the story of the first game as a boss guarding the princess under the orders of the Dragonlord.
While this monster can be found in the overworld, a specific one is guarding Princess Gwaelin in the Quagmire Cave, and must be fought to rescue her. This Green dragon was no different from it's brethren originally, but was given a full boss promotion in the remakes.
Instantly recognisable, these dragons are regarded as monster royalty. It is said that the study of monsters began with dragons, and it may well end with them too.

Green dragon first appeared in the standard card pack as a legendary rare card. Another version appeared in the 10th card pack, "Frontier of Destruction and Creation" under the name "Dragon That Stands in the Way".
Green dragon appears as an A-rank monster of the Dragon family. It will automatically join the player after defeating it in Chapter 6, Episode 9: The Silver Cup Final and it stars in its own Battle Road. The green dragon also appears as a boss and can be recruited from Chapter 2, Episode 5 of the limited Dragon Quest I event at any difficulty, as well as starring in the event battle road as a party member. It could also be recruited from the Scalewood Heart stage during the limited Dragon Fest event and the Green Dragon stage of Terry's Big Tour - Bravas during the limited Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D event, as well. The green dragon can participate in Baran and Great muddy hand's Battle Roads as a party member.
