Akihiro Hino (日野 晃博|Hino Akihiro) (born July 20, 1968 in Ōmuta, Fukuoka) is president and CEO of Japanese video game developer Level-5.

Biography
Prior to founding Level-5 in October 1998, Hino began his career in the video game industry in the early 90's at the now defunct Japanese developer Riverhillsoft, specifically on the Overblood series for the original PlayStation. Hino acted as the lead programmer on the first Overblood, and was subsequently promoted to lead designer and director for the sequel, Overblood 2.

Since the creation of Level-5, Hino has designed, planned and produced all five of the studio's released titles, Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle and Rogue Galaxy for the 2, Jeanne d'Arc for the Portable, and Professor Layton and the Curious Village for the Nintendo DS. He also directed Square Enix's Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for the PlayStation 2.

Recently, Hino once again assumed designing and producing duties for Level-5's titles, White Knight Chronicles for the Playstation 3, and the next two Professor Layton games – Pandora's Box and The Last Time Travel, both for the Nintendo DS, and Inazuma Eleven for the Nintendo DS. He is also producing the upcoming Dragon Quest IX: Hoshizora no Mamoribito, also for the DS, which is his studio's second collaboration with RPG powerhouse Square Enix.

Random Encounters, enemy encounters that occur suddenly when traveling on foot and in some vehicles, are a recurring element of the Dragon Quest series. As indicated, random encounters can occur at any time when walking on the overworld or in a dungeon.

The enemies a player can meet varies both on where they are in the game and the terrain they are on. For example, the forest may contain enemies not found in the plains. For games that include travel by ship, enemies encountered while at sea are from an entirely separate set. Some enemies have a very low encounter rate and thus are almost impossible to find; these usually give out large amounts of Experience Points or some other significant reward, the most obvious example being the Metal Slime.

Abilities such as Taloon's Padfoot enable players to avoid or reduce the probability of Random Encounters if the player does not wish to fight in order to save time or HP. Similarly, if he wishes to battle more (perhaps for EXP), he might use other abilities increase the probability of having a Random Encounter, or, such as in the case of Whistle, cause one immediately.

142.167.240.156:

The Party in Dragon Quest III is the set of 0-3 characters which accompany the hero on his/her quest to defeat Baramos and later, Zoma. Unlike many games in the main series, the party in Dragon Quest III is customizable by the player. The unique party system along with the class change system are 2 of the major reasons why Dragon Quest III was a major success as they both add a large amount of replay value to the game.

Ruida's Tavern
Ruida's Tavern is a location in the starting town of Aliahan where the hero can recruit party members. When the game starts, 3 characters are pre-registered: a Warrior, A Cleric, and a Wizard. Other characters can also be recruited depending on the player's preferences.

Classes
Hero (勇者, Yuusha): The Hero class is the most well-balanced of the character classes and is restricted to the main character. He or she can be equipped with either heavy or light armor, and can use a variety of weapons. The Hero also is given a variety of both offensive and defensive spells. Some of the most powerful healing, defensive, and offensive spells in the game are exclusive to the Hero class, including Ironize, which makes the party completely invulnerable for a short time, HealUsAll, which completely restores the group's HP, and the lightning spells Zap and Lightning. In the remakes, the Hero gains a variety of unique outside abilities as well, such as Recall (which allows the player to record conversations).

Wizard (魔法使い, Mahoutsukai): (Mage in the Game Boy Color version) Wizards specialize in destructive magical spells such as Blaze and Boom. Wizards also have the abilities to use spells in the outside world. Such spells as Outside and X-Ray will help the player advance in caves and while adventuring. The Wizard is given powerful magical abilities when leveled fully, including BeDragon and Explodet. The Wizard also has the Chance spell introduced in Dragon Quest II, which has a large menu of possible random effects: some very good, some very bad. Though Wizards have high Intelligence, they are physically frail and cannot equip heavy weapons such as swords, axes, spears, or heavy armor.

Pilgrim (僧侶, Souryo): (Cleric in the Game Boy Color version) Pilgrims are on the other side of the magical spectrum from Wizards, as they specialize in healing and fortifying spells rather than attack magic. Introductory spells such as Heal and SpeedUp are useful in the early stages of the game, but as the player advances, the spells become more versatile. Like Wizards, Pilgrims cannot equip heavy armor, but they can use weapons much like a Hero or a Soldier can. Pilgrims do have initially more strength, agility and vitality than Wizards.

Thief (盗賊, Touzoku): The Thief was a new class added to the remake versions. Thieves have high speed and agility but average attack power and defense power. They have the ability to steal items at the end of a fight. In addition, they are decent combatants that can use whips and chains to attack multiple enemies at once. In the outside world abilities such as Eagle Eye allow the player to locate villages and nearby towns.

Goof-off (遊び人, Asobinin): (Jester in the Game Boy Color version) Goof-offs, although pretty much useless on the battle field, have a great amount of luck. This allows them to deal critical amounts of damage more often than other characters. The trade-off for this is the fact that Goof-offs have minds of their own, and the player cannot always control their actions. Goof-offs are the wild cards of the game, as they sometimes do damage to themselves instead of attacking enemy characters or goof-off (hince the name). Goof-off is the only class that can turn into a Sage at Dharma Temple without a Book of Satori.

Fighter (武闘家, Butouka): Fighters have a great amount of speed, agility, and strength. They can deal devastating amounts of damage from a single strike, and can be equipped with a variety of weapons. However, if equipped with a sword or other bladed weapon, a Fighter's abilities will actually decrease, as his or her attack power will lower considerably. This is because Fighters prefer to attack with their bare hands, and so only claw type weapons will make their attack power rise. In the remakes, a fighter is only able to equip claw weapons, thus removing the possibility of their attack reducing due to equipment. The amount of claw weapons in the game is increased as a result of this change.

Soldier (戦士, Senshi): (Warrior in the Game Boy Color version) This class, which focuses on strength and defense, allows you to recruit basically another hero, but without the inherited magical abilities. Their physical abilities are higher than other classes, but they suffer from relatively low agility.

Merchant (商人, Shounin): (Dealer in the Game Boy Color version) Merchants have the ability to pick up additional gold after a battle. The amount of gold is dependent on the type of monsters which were defeated. Merchants can also appraise items free of charge. In battle, merchants are only average in attack and defense, slightly better than a Pilgrim. In the remakes, merchants have two unique outside abilities: Excavate (which allows the player to dig underfoot for treasure) and YellHelp, which summons a shopkeeper in the field.

Sage (賢者, Kenja): The magical abilities of a Sage are comprised of the skills belonging to both Pilgrims and Wizards. This class is not initially available, but a player can transform a leveled up Goof-off into one at the Dharma Temple. If the player has a rare item called the Book of Satori (or the Zen Book in the remakes), any character holding it can also become a Sage.

Post-game
After defeating Zoma, the hero becomes an ordinary party member. This means they he/she can be dropped off at Ruida's Tavern while another party member takes his/her place. This is especially significany in the remakes of Dragon Quest III as there are bonus dungeons available after the main game is over.
Walkthrough
After entering the Hexagon, go straight north until you see a tablet. Check the tablet, a ghost(who is actually Erinn's deceased father Edwinn) will appear and show you the switch to open the doorway. The switch is located at the back of the statue situated at the left fork. Turn on the switch, go back to the central passage and continue through the opened door. Go to the right fork to collect a Leather Shield. Go back to the stairs and take the left stair at the north to collect a Golden Ring. Backtrack to the stairs and this time take the right one to go to the Hexagon B1. Go straight to the north and go down the staircase. At the Hexagon B2, go south to collect some coins from the chest then head northwest first to collect a Feather Fan. After this, head northeast to go to the Hexagon B1 (second part). Go anti-clockwise around the floor and collect a Gleenban Groat, then pass through the north door to the next room. Go northwest first to collect a Seed of Deftness. Finally go to the central room, before talking with the blue-haired lady, restore the hero's HP because you will be facing the first boss in the game -- Hexagoon. After the battle and the cutscene, you will be automatically transferred to the entrance.

Note that there is a chest at the north corridor but is not accessible because of the rubble, that room is accessible through the entrance at West Stornway.

Features
As its name implies, many of the rooms within The Hexagon are hexagonally shaped.

Eltrio
Eltrio is the father of the hero. He was a prince of Argonia, and the elder brother of Clavius, who became king of Argonia when Eltrio could not be found to ascend to the throne. Eltrio was in love with Xia, the Dragovian. Because Eltrio was not a Dragovian, both he and Xia were forbidden to remain together.

Ishmahri
The creator of the realm of the Moonshadow, who helps the party to restore the king of Ascantha to his former glory and bring their ship out of the wasteland into the ocean.

Kalderasha
Kalderasha is a fortune teller who lives in Farebury with his daughter Valentina. He refuses to tell fortunes until his crystal ball is found.

Marcello
:Main article: Marcello
Marcello is the half brother of Angelo. He hated his brother most of his life, because of the birth of Angelo, Marcello and his mother were thrown out of the house by his father. After that ordeal Marcello was raised by Abbot Francisco. After meeting up with his brother in the Abbey, he blames Angelo for his misfortune.

Years later Marcello became the Captain of the Holy Templars. After the Abbot was killed by Dhoulmagus, Marcello takes both positions of Captain and Abbot.

Before facing Don Mole, Marcello becomes useful while looking for the Moon Shadow Harp. He mentions that he had read about it in a book that was donated by the castle of Ascantha.

After gaining the ship Marcello can be seen in Neos with High Priest Rolo. Marcello is busy at first, while discussing Marcello's ranking as Abbot, to notice the party. After his talk with Rolo he manages to have a small talk with the Hero. Marcello can be spotted again in Savella Cathedral.

Instead of using his new power for good, he, with Rhapthorne's sceptre, destroys the Holy Shrine at Neos. After battling with the party, he is found by Angelo grasping to the side of a precipice above the deep crater from which Rhapthorne has just risen. Resigned to die, Angelo saves Marcello at the last minute.

Marta
Morrie
Morrie of the Monster Arena, who constantly refers to the hero as ragazzo (which means "my boy" in Italian), has a very pronounced accent. He is a very kind if "high spirited" individual, but he always means well.

Red
Red is an unscrupulous feminist. Yangus used to work for her long ago but he eventually decided to strike out on his own.

She is first seen in possession of the wagon and Princess Medea at her house, where she trades it for the Venus Tear.

She strikes out on her own in Cap'n Crow's cave, using Yangus' obvious affection for her to beat the party to the treasure. But her charade is stopped when Crow's apparition beats her unconscious. At that point it's time for Yangus to step in and protect her. While Yangus might not appear to have all the qualities of a good man, Yangus is the obvious better half in compared to Red.

Valentina
Valentina is the adopted daughter of Kalderasha the fortune teller who lives in Farebury.

Xia
Hero's mother and lover of Eltrio, the brother of King Clavius of Argonia. Being she was a Dragovain and Eltrio a human, they were forbidden to be together. Eltrio died trying to get to her, and Xia fell into a depression. Xia, courageously decided not to terminate her baby, even though the birth killed her. That baby ends up not only saving the Dragovian race, but destroying Rapthorne in combat, something the Dragovians could never do on their own, despite their great power.

The Zenithian Equipment is a set of critical items in Dragon Quest IV. They are a set of legendary armour and weapons said to be necessary to defeat the King of Hell; they are also the keys to Zenithia, as one must be equipped with all four pieces to open the door to the Tower of Heaven. However, only the Chosen Hero is capable of wearing them, making him instrumental in the overthrow of Estark and later Psaro.

Zenithian Armour
The Armour is likely the first piece to be acquired; it is found in the cave north of the Medal King's Palace.

Zenithian Helm
The Helm is found in Canalot, in its king's possession. He holds a competition stipulating that anyone who can make him laugh will win the Helm. The party travels to Laissez Fayre to recruit comedian Tom Foolery to the cause, expecting him to unleash one of his funniest jokes on the king; instead, he delivers an impassioned speech about evil on the rise and then necessity of the Chosen to defeat it. The king is convinced and gives up the Helm.

Zenithian Shield
On a tip from a poet in Canalot, the party heads to Burland, only to find that the king gave it away to the queen of Femiscyra (a beautiful woman) many years ago. They travel to a small kingdom east of Burland, however, and after being accused of robbery, they are tasked with finding the real criminal if they want to clear their names. They successfully track down the real robber, clear their names, and are rewarded with the Shield for their hard work.

Zenithian Sword
After acquiring the balloon and traveling to the World Tree, they find a fallen Zenithian named Orifiela, who points them to the Sword.
