The following are known glitches in [[Dragon Quest III]].

==Numb status glitch==
Often called the ''Dream Ruby'' glitch, because it can induce the numb status to a character, this glitch uses the fortune teller in [[Ashalam]] to alter memory addresses. Notably, it can be used to transform held items into other items, as well as alter the [[Zoom]] spell list to include locations not yet visited. This allows for large sequence breaks which can be used to complete the game very quickly. This glitch only applies to the NES version.

==Companion overload glitch==
This glitch involves recruiting the maximum number of companions using [[Ruida's Tavern]]. Once the capacity has been reached, the [[Hero (Dragon Quest III)|hero]] will mysteriously know many spells which are not learned until later levels. It is hypothesized that some memory addresses overlap causing this glitch. This glitch only applies to the NES version.

==Stat rollover glitch==
When leveled up high enough, certain stats will roll over the limit of 255, resulting in extremely low stats for a highly-leveled character. This glitch applies to the NES version.

==Pachisi level up glitch==
This is widely viewed as a glitch, but does not seem to be as there is specific text in the game referencing its occurence. This glitch occurs while playing Pachisi and landing on a space which causes the characters stats to go down. After this occurs, the next battle fought will result in a massive number of experience to be added to the characters total experience, causing him/her to automatically level up to level 99. However, it has been noted that these level ups are not the same as standard level ups, causing the level 99 character to only have the stats of approximately a level 75 character who is leveled up normally. This glitch only applies to the GBC verions.

==Slime Family==
*001-Slime: The mascot for the entire DQ series, the slime is the weakest enemy you will encounter. However when the team up they become more powerful. (Found near Angel Falls and the Hexagon)
*014-She Slime: A red color version of the regular slime. (Found in Eastern/Western Stornway)
*016-Bubble Slime-Also known as Babble or the Poison Slime since they can poison you and your party. (Found Western Stornway and Zere)
*029-Healslime: Slimes that heal obviously, often summoned by other monsters. (Found in Brigadoom and Western Coffinwell)
*046-Metal Slime: Probably the second most well known DQ monster, these little guys are tough to kill and often run away, but the experience from killing one is very rewarding. (Found in Quarantomb and Pluvi Isle)

'''The Bag''' (Sack) is a recurring element in Dragon Quest games, beginning with [[Dragon Quest V]]. It is a magical bag carried by the player which can contain a very large amount of items. It replaced the functionality of the [[vault|item vault]] in earlier games.

==Usage==
The Bag is automatically part of the player's arsenal from the start of each game. When the player's party's inventory is completely full, additional items are automatically placed in the bag. Additionally, other items can be placed in the bag at the player's leisure, to be used at some later time. Items in the bag cannot be used during battle.

Typically the bag also includes functionality for sorting items within it. This makes it easier for the player to find specific items when the bag becomes more crowded with items.
