[[Jade]] and [[Rab]] can use claws, and equipping a set prevents them from holding a shield. Claw weapons attack twice, with the secondary hit being 2/3rds the strength of the initial blow--this is why the category's attack power is low compared to other weapons aside from wands. Additionally, all claws deal 10% more damage to the [[Machine family]].

A [[Jipang|Jipangese]] blacksmith of superlative skill is able to restore it to its former glory, but the player must first sell him the chunk of [[orichalcum|orichalcum]] found in [[Damdara]] before he can begin. The Sword of Kings increases the {{Hero 3}}'s attack by +120 and will generate an earthshaking [[Kaswoosh|thunderclap]] when used as an item in battle.

The Sword of Kings is one of the three sacred treasures of [[Tantegel]], but the Dread Fiend [[Zoma]] stole the blade, rendering it asunder. Though it took the fiend three years to destroy it due to the sword's incredible might. To repair the sundered blade, the player must first visit a [[Jipang]] swordsmith in [[Kol]]. The player must first find the broken sword located in a researcher's house in Cantlin, finding a chunk of orichalcum in Damdara in the stables, and acquiring the swordsmith's [[Forging Hammer]] after speaking with his sister. After acquiring all of the items above, the swordsmith will reforge the broken sword to its former glory.

The Sword of Kings is available in the post-game. In [[Hotto]], there is a blacksmith that wishes to forge the sword, and needs [[Orichalcum]] to do so. Once given the material, the blacksmith starts forging the sword and asks the player to return later (one in-game day) for it. The Sword of Kings will then become available in the [[item shop]]. That's can be repeated any time the party have a piece of Orichalcum.

The Sword of Kings is one of the ingredients needed to craft the [[Supreme Sword of Light]].

*As with the other equipment Erdrick amasses in the climax of his adventure, the sword's guard lacks the details that make it resemble [[Ramia]] and would not obtain them until later.
*The sword of kings is paid homage by the [[Kingsblade|kingsblade]] of ''[[Dragon Quest VII|VII]]'', which has a similar design and attack strength. This is possibly a developer gag as the 1996 remake of ''III'' was the most recent mainline title in the series prior to the release of ''VII'' in 2000.
