The Cave to Rendarak, also known as Road to Rhone or Cave to Rhone in previous versions, is the largest dungeon in DQ2.

It is also the penultimate dungeon in the game. It is located in the south central region of Torland and accessible only via teleportal.
DQ2
The Cave to Rendarak is infamous among fans, due to its length, the strong enemies within, and the existence of pitfalls and infinite loops that no first-time player can be expected to know of.

The cave is only accessible via a travel gate in Beran requiring the Jailor's Key. To open the cave, the False Idol must be used next to the entrance which is disguised as an impassable mountain tile.
Soul Sigil
Bottom right corner of floor B1 in all versions from the Nintendo Entertainment System to the Game Boy Color version. See the remake section for more details.

Thunderbolt Blade
Find your way to floor 5. Make your way all the way north, then east into the side room; go down the flight of stairs. There is a pitfall in the almost-bottom-leftmost corner of the (huge) room; find and fall in it. You'll land right next to the sword.

Erdrick's Armour
Much easier than locating the Thunderbolt blade, simply find the staircase in the bottom right area of Floor 3 and take the stairs right to the chest.
The Cave to Rendarak is the finale locale from the second game available via the Echo Chamber. A restless armor has taken upon itself to inhabit Erdrick's armor itself, and it must be dealt with by the Luminary and his party. Unlike the truncated versions of other dungeons that appear in the Echo Chamber, the cave is very faithful to it's original design and will prove the most difficult dungeon out of all the past tomes.

Remake changes
*The following changes were made in the Cell phone ports of the game:
**The Seed of strength is found in the cave basement while the Soul Sigil is found instead from the King of Tantegel.
**A fire spirit NPC prevents the party from accessing the cave until both the False Idol and Eye of Rubiss are obtained.
The Golden claws are a pair of cursed claws that draw monsters to the wearer en mass.
Appearances
DQ3
The weapon has an Attack bonus of +55. It can be found in the basement chamber of the Pyramid, and sold for 11,250 gold coins in the weapon/armour shops. Being a treasure of a long forgotten Pharaoh, the claws are cursed: the party will encounter a battle at every step as soon as they possess it until they sell or discard the gauntlet. In the remakes of III, the claws will only force battles while within the pyramid and its Attack bonus is +50.
The Golden claws are given to the party by the Portogus Rex of Portoga as a reward for defeating Baramos after his resurrection. Though the Pharaoh's curse persists, the King likely means well as the claws are the strongest weapons a martial artist can have in his world. When fully idealized in the forge, the claws boast the highest critical hit chance of all weapons and can help Jade attain a 25% chance when paired with the Assassin accessory, the Minerva equipment exclusive to her, and the passive traits she acquires through her character builder. As with all items found from other worlds accessed through the Echo Chamber, the claws are only available in the Definitive Edition version of the game.
Cetacea is a fabled flying whale that ferries chosen heroes and their allies across the expanse of Erdrea. Despite her incredible size, Cetacea is an elegant being who sails through the blue sky with the gracefulness of a spring breeze.
Appearance and personality
Cetacea is an egg-white Baleen Whale approximately one hundred feet long, a pale white jaw and ventral pleats, and red markings under her golden eyes. Being adapted to life in the skies, Cetacea is carried by two massive wings that extend from her sides from the rise of her back. These wings have a golden under-coloration, and are the only part of her underbelly that is not a shade of white. Her pectoral fins possess two overlapping rows of feathers, with a second smaller set extending from behind her wings at the beginning of her tail. Cetacea's fluke is more V-shaped than a normal whale's, and resembles a pair of flower petals. Cetacea is adorned with golden markings across her back, with a blue gem set in a headdress behind her blowhole. Once she is granted the power needed to puncture Calasmos' barrier, Cetacea wears gold armor adorned with solar markings and the light from her gemstone condenses into a beam of energy resembling a narwhal's horn.

Cetacea is a dedicated companion to the Luminary, as she was to Erdwin in the distant past. She does not hesitate to breach dens of evil, and she participates in the final battle by carrying the party within the void of space and projecting a wide magical sigil for the heroes to stand upon and fight without restriction. Cetacea also has a playful side to her personality, buzzing the party with a low altitude flyby when she is first summoned in the third act of the game.

Appearances
DQ11
Cetacea can be summoned once the has been given the Calamus Flute in the second act of the game Father Benedictus in Arboria. When the Luminary tries to play it, the flute transforms into a fishing rod with a line made of glowing light. Casting the line into the air, Cetacea responds to the signal and descends to the group.

Riding on Cetacea's back opens a secondary world map in the 3D mode of the game and, in the 3DS and Switch versions, a raised perspective of the normal world map in the 2D mode. Due to her size, Cetacea can only land at specific points know as whale weigh-stations; these points are marked by tall shafts of rotating light that cannot be missed. Cetacea can be summoned from any location in Erdrea, but unless she is called from one of these stations she will begin her flight from the Luminary's Landing station.

DQR
Cetacea was added as a legendary rare card on November 11th, 2019.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light
Cetacea belongs to the ??? family and is a class SS monster. She was added to the game on November 28th, 2019.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Cetacea appears as a background element in the Yggdrasil's Altar stage. She additionally appears as an equipable spirit, specifically a support-class spirit that grants the giant-status effect. She can be purchased the vault shop for 6,000G, or can be battled on the spirit board. When fought, she is represented by a white King K.Rool that fights alongside the Luminary.
