Kaclang is a spell which renders the recipient invulnerable, but also unable to act. It was introduced in Dragon Quest III at first exclusive to the hero class. Affects the whole party. Some monsters also have the Kaclang spell.

Seemingly useless at first glance, the spell is actually quite handy to trick an enemy into wasting all their MP, as well as scouting for their abilities.

Appearances
Dragon Quest III
Kaclang is learned by the Hero at level 12. It has the highest action priority in the game, being cast before all other actions.

Dragon Quest IV
Kaclang is learned by the Hero at level 21.

Dragon Quest V
Kaclang is only used by monsters.

Dragon Quest VI
In Dragon Quest VI DS, Kaclang is learned by the recruitable Liquid Metal Slime in level 3, when a Luminary reaches Learner (rank 2), and when a Hero becomes a Village Hero (rank 1).

It can be used by Arrghgoyles.
Dragon Quest VII
Stub
The Hero will learn Kaclang after purchasing the spell for 12 points in his Luminary skill tree. The spell costs 8 MP to cast but now only targets a single ally, with the effect lasting for 2~4 turns.

DQM
Called Ironize in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 15 with 62 MP and 58 intelligence. It is naturally learned by the DarkCrab, EvilBeast, EyeBall, MetalKing, Tortragon and WhipBird.

DQM2
Ironize now requires 87 intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the WonderEgg. It is no longer naturally learned by the EyeBall

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Kaclang is randomly available through the Hero's Down-B move, Command Selection. It renders the hero immune to all damage and knockback, but also means he will be instantly slain by Metal Slash. Additionally, casting the spell while in the air will cause the hero to inflict 15% damage on anyone he falls upon.

Fizzle is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in the original game, it is a spell that attempts to seal the spells of the target/targets, preventing them from casting magic.

Interestingly, Fizzle does not prevent those afflicted from being able to speak. This can be seen during the in-battle Party chat seen in the PSX version of VII.

Localization History
The original Japanese versions of the Monsters: Joker spinoffs introduced a single-target spell by the name of Mahotomu and continued to use the name Mahotōn for the multi-target spell. The English localization team decided to use the name Fizzle for the new single-target spell in the games, while using the new name Kafizzle for the original spell, which always affected a group of enemies.

Appearances
Dragon Quest
Learned at level 10. It costs 2 MP to use it against an enemy, and it stops them from casting spells. Some enemies will not be affected, such as scorpions, because they do not have any spells.

Dragon Quest II
The Prince of Cannock learns Fizzle at level 8.

Dragon Quest III
The Hero learns Fizzle at level 18, and Priests and Sages learn it at level 13. It can also be cast by using the Staff of antimagic and Staff of Rain during battle.

Dragon Quest IV
Fizzle is learned at the fourth rank in the Priest vocation after 50 battles and the Malevolantern class after 1 battle. It costs 3 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest VIII
Fizzle is learned by Angelo after investing 6 points into his "Staff" skill, as well as the hero after investing 40 points into his "Courage" skill.

Dragon Quest IX
Fizzle is learned by Armamentalists at level 14. It costs 3 MP to cast, and targets a group of enemies.

DQ10
Fizzle is learned by Mages at level 18 and Druids at level 59, costing 3 MP to cast. Its chance of success is dependent on either the caster's Magical might or Magical mending, whichever happens to be higher.

DQ11
Veronica and Serena will learn Fizzle at levels 13 and 15, respectively.

Dragon Quest Monsters
Called StopSpell in this game, this ability can be learned by various monsters. It requires the monster to be at least level 9, with at least 44 MP, and 38 intelligence. It is naturally learned by the CatFly, Centasaur, Crestpent, DarkHorn, FaceTree, Gremlin, JewelBag and Snapper among others.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2
StopSpell now requires 69 intelligence to learn.

Section-Stub
DQMJ
Fizzle can be learned from:

* Antimagic (5 points)
* Mage Aid (26 points)
* Seal (5 points)
* Über Charmer (8 points)

DQMJ2
Fizzle can no longer be learned from Seal. It can now also be learned from Diabolist for 4 points.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below
Although the spell is not usable by any of the playable heroes, certain monsters are able to cast Fizzle such as Gargoyles and Hocus chimaeras. In this entry, the Seal status effect will prevent characters from using either spells or skills.

Dragon Quest Builders
The Dragonlord will cast Fizzle frequently during the first phase of the final battle, preventing the Builder from using items for several moments unless he or she is wearing the Auroral armor.

DQTact
Fizzle is known naturally by King slime and Magic marionette at level 1 and can be learned by Bag o' laughs and Stump chump at level 16. It costs 8 MP to cast, has a range of three squares away from the caster in any direction, and has a chance to lock away a single target's spells.
This version of Kathwack causes damage, rather than instant death. This references Kiryl's AI in the NES version of Dragon Quest IV, where Kiryl would infamously cast the Whack and Thwack spells constantly against boss monsters to no effect.
Thwack is an instant-death spell that targets a whole group of enemies, stopping the heart (or nearest approximate). Typically, characters that take up the paths of Priests and Sages are the only humans that learn the whack line, giving the impression of the spell family being a case of "forbidden" magic reserved only for the most pious and disciplined.
Thwack is a spell the Hero can randomly choose from his Command Selection ability. Kaswooshle is a spell in the Dragon Quest series. It is the deadliest of the wind spells, Woosh, Swoosh, and Kaswoosh, eviscerating a group of foes with a tempest of Typhonic proportions.

Appearances
DQ9
Kaswooshle is only available to Luminaries at level 58. It costs 50 MP to cast and possess a base damage of 150~250. It will begin to approach it's cap of 450~550 once the caster's magical might surpasses 550.

Dragon Quest X
Luminaries learn Kaswooshle after investing 130 points into their Je Ne Sais Quoi skillset. It costs 20 MP to cast.

Damage is calculated as Magical Might x 0.3 + 100, leading to a rough wind base range of 150~250 and category five devastation of 250~350 at max. As with all other Woosh spells in X, Kaswooshle will spiral outward from the caster in a counter-clockwise cycle and strike all enemies within that range multiple times.

DQ11
Serena can learn Kaswooshle from the Spears skill panel for 25 skill points and can only be learned in Act 3 of the game. It is located on Serena's character builder between the Spear and Wand skill panels and all of the skills surrounding it must be learned first to unlock it. It costs 50 MP to cast, and its base damage range is 258~514. If Serena's magical might is raised to 250, the spell with hit its cap of 496~752.

Kaswooshle has a much lower magical might requirement than other fourth-tier spells, but for good reason: Serena never accumulates any points in the attribute naturally. In order to get the most out of the spell, careful equipment selections and liberal applications of seeds of sorcery must be applied.

Kacrackle is a recurring ice spell in the Dragon Quest series, typically the most powerful. Introduced in Dragon Quest III, it originally hit a single group of enemies with fierce ice damage, but starting with Dragon Quest V, it lacerates all enemies with enormous crystals.

Localization history
In the Japanese games, Mahyado was replaced as the strongest ice spell in the Joker series of games by Mahyadedosu and eventually introduced in the main series of games starting with Dragon Quest IX. In the English versions of the games, Kacrackle was kept as the name of the strongest ice spell, while Mahyado would be translated as Kacrack in order to maintain its position as the second strongest ice spell in the game.
Kafrizz appears as the Hero's neutral special move in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is the fully charged version of Frizz, and creates an explosive, multi-hit flame upon contact with an opponent for 36 MP. The first hit deals 19% damage, with each subsequent flare searing for 3% and totaling for 31% if all six fireballs connect with an opponent. Kafrizz has high knockback and deals excellent shield damage, but the ending lag the Hero suffers means he can be punished if he casts it at the wrong time.

Enemy versions
When cast by a monster in IX Kafrizz will deal 104~127 damage.
Kafrizzle is a recurring offensive spell in the Dragon Quest series. Kafrizzle is the most powerful fireball spell and is significantly stronger than Frizz, Frizzle, & Kafrizz. It cremates a single enemy with miniature sun.

Localization History
Prior to the localization of Dragon Quest IX, Kafrizzle was the English equivalent of the the メラゾーマ (Merazoma) spell. The Kafrizzle seen in DQIX and later numbered titles refers to the spell メラガイアー (Meragaia), as the Japanese version of the ninth game added several of the fourth-tier spells from Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker into the main series. Because the English root word of frizz could not be further expanded upon as the Japanese mera was, the localization team instead opted to keep the Kafrizzle term for the most powerful fireball spell and assign the English name Kafrizz to Merazoma.

Appearances
DQ3
* In the 3DS port, the base range of the spells was increased to 153~167. This gives it a maximum range of 297~311, and necessitates a wisdom stat of 580 to get that high.

Magicians learn Kafrizzle after investing 150 points into their Spellcraft. It costs 18 MP and has a casting time of 65 seconds, with damage being calculated as Magical Might x 0.76 +67.5, with the current damage range unknown.

DQ11
Veronica will learn to cast Kafrizzle upon mastering her Spellcraft skill tree. It costs an obscene 52 MP but hits for an immense 366~398 damage before reaching a maximum of 748~780 when her magical night rises to 900.

DQM
Called Blazemost in this game, it is an upgraded form of Blazemore. Blazemore will grow into Blazemost when a monster reaches as least level 28 with at least 112 MP and 146 intelligence, and deals 180~200 damage for 10 MP.
Kasizzle is a spell in the DQSeries. Introduced in Dragon Quest III, it is the final spell in the Sizz series, and immolates a group of enemies with a wave of ferocious hellfire.

Localization History
In III~VIII, Kasizzle was used as the English equivalent of Begiragon. Due to a set of new, fourth-tier spells being brought into the main series from the Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker spinoffs between IX~XI, giragrade became the most powerful wave of fire spell in Dragon Quest X. Due to the English root word of Sizz being unable to be further expanded upon as the Japanese gira was, the localization team opted to assign the new English name Kasizz to Begiragon, while Kasizzle was hence applied to Giragrade.
Kasizzle can only be obtained by mastering the Mage vocation. This spell costs 10 MP to casts, and deals between 88 and 112 points of damage.

DQ7
In the original Sony PlayStation version, Kasizzle can be learned by Armamentalists at rank 7, Prism peacocks at rank 2, and Black bishops at rank 3.
* In the Nintendo 3DS version, Kasizzle is an advanced spell and can also be learned by Sages at rank 5, Druids at rank 2, and Heroes at rank 5. It can now only be learned permanently by the monster vocations.

DQ8
Kasizzle is a 10 MP spell learned by the Hero 8 at level 32, while Jessica learns the spell from Dominico after the events at Arcadia. It initially deals between 70 and 90 until their Wisdom hits 180, and caps at 150~170 once their wisdom surpasses 480.
*In the 3DS port, Kasizzle's base damage was increased to 80~100, and the maximum range was raised to 175~195 which requires a wisdom of 540 to reach.

DQ10
Dancers can master the spell after investing 180 skill points into their Dance skill, while Death Masters can learn it by investing 180 skill points into their Reikan skill. MP cost is 24, range is 10 meters, and the precise damage range is currently unknown. The common consensus is that the base range is around 450, and requires a Magical might stat of 400 to improve.

DQ11
Veronica will master Kasizzle at level 64 and can cast the spell for 48 MP. Base damage is 308~340, incinerating foes with 632~664 damage at maximum once her Magical might reaches 900.

DQM
Called Firebolt in this game, it is an upgraded form of Firebane. Firebane grows into Firebolt when the monster reaches level 26 with 96 MP and 122 intelligence. It is naturally learned by Hargon.

DQM2
Firebolt now requires 220 intelligence to learn. It is no longer naturally learned by Hargon.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
Kasizzle costs 36 MP to cast, and will deal 199~220 base damage. Once the monster's wisdom reaches 500, the spell will slowly begin to approach its limit of 332~367. It is learned from:

*Bang & Sizz III (63 points)
*Crack & Sizz III (90 points)
*Exorsus (60 points)
*Frizz & Sizz III (90 points)
*Sizz & Zam III (65 points)
*Sizz & Zap III (65 points)
*Über Mage (100 points)
*Über Zapologist (60 points)
*Woosh & Sizz III (90 points)

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3
Kasizzle parallels Kacrackle in that they both cost 64 MP, share a base range of 190~210, and a maximum range of 299~319. The spell grows stronger once a monster's wisdom exceeds 500.

Enemy versions
Callous casters will cremate the heroes for 45~55 damage, maintaining this temperature until VI, when the range was increased to 60~80 damage. In VIII the range was lowered to 48~64 damage in all versions of the game.
Kasizz is a spell first introduced in the Joker sub-series. As with the other Sizz spells, it roasts a group of enemies in roaring flames.

Localization History
Begiragon had previously been localized as Kasizzle until Joker 2, with the localized name being passed on to Giragrade and the former being redubbed as Kasizz. In other words, the Japanese games received new fourth-tier spells with new names and the English localizations gained new third-tier spells.

Appearances
Dragon Quest X
Dancers will learn Kasizz at level 45. The spell's damage calculation is Magical Might x 0.33 +55 with a maximum range of 256~268. The spell costs 21 MP to cast, and will fire in a straight line from the conjurer for ten meters.

DQ11
The Hero and Veronica will learn kasizz at level 40 and 38, respectively. The spell costs 16 MP to cast and will deal a base range of 100~116 before capping at 216~232

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
Kasizz's base range is 114~126, and the maximum cap is 209~231. The follower skillsets teach the spell to a monster:
Kasizz can be learned by Rickerd at level 38 and by Dracky and Tortured soul through Talent Blossoming. It costs 108 MP to cast, has a range of three squares in front of the caster, and deals major Sizz-type spell damage to all enemies in a range of three squares horizontally. Upgrading the spell increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast.
