Absent from the [[Nintendo Entertainment System]] version of the game, these events are present in all of the remakes from the {{Super Famicom}} to the [[Nintendo Switch]] remakes of {{Dragon Quest III}}.&lt;br /&gt;

The {{Hero 3}} (or rather the player) is asked by a voice to give their real name, plus month and day of birth.&lt;br /&gt;

If the hero leaves the castle without talking to the chancellor, they will be given the [[Happy camper]] personality.&lt;br /&gt;

If the hero encourages Dickie to leave his brother behind, they will be given the [[Thug (personality)|Thug]] personality.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If the hero tells Dickie to leave the canteen of water behind, they will be given the [[Daredevil]] personality.&lt;br /&gt;

The hero has been transformed into a monster. They climb out of a well and find themselves in the middle of a town full of innocent people, where a man confronts them, forcing the hero to kill him.&lt;br /&gt;

If the hero only kills the man and (optionally) one other person and flees the town, they will be given the [[Paragon]] personality.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If the hero kills more than two people and the nun but spares the child, they will be given the [[Wimp (personality)|Wimp]] personality.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

The hero finds themselves in a peaceful village. An old man is walking with his grandson when he realizes that he has forgotten his wallet at home. He asks the hero if they will retrieve it for him. Once the hero retrieves the wallet, they will be accused of thievery and taken to the nearest priest.&lt;br /&gt;

If the hero leaves the town without getting the wallet, they will be given the [[Shrinking violet]] personality.&lt;br /&gt;
