Aamon (also known as Radimvice) is an antagonist from Dragon Quest IV. He is a powerful magus and subordinate of Psaro the Manslayer.

Characteristics
A spell-casting fiend and one of Psaro's higher ranked minions, Aamon is first encountered near the end of the game when the player must defeat him and several other monsters in order to destroy the barrier protecting Castle Nadiria.

Aamon embodies the worst stereotypes of his kind, using Psaro's faith in monsterkind to avoid suspicion and trigger the events that would lead to the final battle of Dragon Quest IV. His original hope was that Psaro and the Hero's party would destroy each other in their battle, enabling him to ascend to Psaro's position as master of all monsters. He is killed in Nadiria in the original version of the game, but the PSX remake (and subsequent ports) expand his role to that of the game's true villain. Having cultivated the Secret of Evolution unbeknownst to Psaro, he takes control the Diabolic Hall.

When the bonus dungeon of the remakes is completed, Psaro becomes an ally and Aamon will engage the party when he is present. The Secret of Evolution quickly changes him into a likeness of what Psaro became under of the secret's effect, though he is leagues stronger than the white-haired demon was when under that power's influence, having access to the most devastating of breath attacks and even Magic Burst.

Appearances
Presently, Aamon has only been shown in Dragon Quest IV. Though he appears to be a mere lackey, he actually sets in motion much of the endgame. His natural state is that of a pink skinned, wizened looking demon garbed in priestly attire. Once transformed, he takes on the stumpy appearance Psaro bore after losing his arms and head during the original conflict, and mutates into the familiar five-eyed form as the fight continues. His coloration is different than Psaro's was, with boney white being the primary color along with purple for his musculature and blood red for the horns horns and talons. When he is pushed to the brink, Aamon will mutate a final time and his skin will turn jet black, muscles and horns shifting to a sickening teal.

Battle
Barrier
Aamon is first battled at the barrier tower in Nadiria. He is flanked by three drooling ghouls.
Final Showdown
In the remakes, Aamon resurfaces in Chapter 6 as the true final boss, having survived his run-in with the hero at Nadiria to assume control of Diabolic Hall. Much like Psaro the Manslayer, he has several forms:
With snappy comebacks and spontaneous one-liners, the Jester is always popular.
--Description in Dragon Quest VII.

The Gadabout (also known as Goof-off or Jester) is a recurring vocation in the Dragon Quest series. Quite literally a 'joke' character, the Gadabout is poor in nearly every attribute, save for their incredible luck.

Dragon Quest III
Gadabouts, although pretty much useless on the battlefield, have a great amount of luck. This allows them to avoid the affects of debilitating spells more often than other characters. The trade-off for this is the fact that these clowns have minds of their own, and the player cannot always control their actions. In Dragon Quest III, they are the only class that can turn into a Sage at Alltrades Abbey without a Book of Satori.
Usefulness
The Gadabout's attributes decline in all categories might be hard to deal with at first and the skills aren't worth using, but the vocation is required for a character to become a Luminary and then a Summoner later on.

Notable Gadabouts
*Selectable class in Dragon Quest III
*Torneko can be considered a fusion of the Gadabout and Merchant classes, with a little bit of Thief thrown in.
*Dhoulmagus is referred to by the party and by NPCs as a Jester. Beyond this nomenclature and a superficial resemblance, he has no real relation to the vocation.
Story
The party visits Diabolic hall fairly late in the game, infiltrating its walls using the Mod Rod to take on the appearance of monsters; they can only properly interact with the inhabitants while in monstrous form, as speaking to one while in any other guise triggers a battle. After progressing to the inner hall, the party witnesses Psaro the Manslayer's address to all demons, which is actually the first time most of them see him in person. Psaro gets his point across, but before he can wrap up the meeting, he receives a report that the humans at Mamon Mine have accidentally excavated Estark's Crypt and that he will soon awaken; as chaos breaks out, he takes off to react to this latest development, and the party makes good its escape to confront Estark.

Remake
After being joined by Psaro, The Hero and company return to Diabolic Hall to confront Aamon. The monsters are divided into two factions with some loyal to Psaro (some even being in jail over it) and the others loyal to Aamon. Those who are loyal to Psaro don't attack The Hero and the party, providing that Psaro is with them.

Notes
Other changes to the remake include:
*Several monsters upstairs in prison secretly discuss their loyalty to Aamon only to feign ignorance when The Hero's party approaches.
*In the NES Version, Float-o-copier is present in the palace only until the meeting with Psaro. In the remake, one still remains in the kitchen area until Psaro joins The Hero.
The last remaining herbs are in a nearby pantry, but are guarded by demons, to the dismay of the inhabitants.

The party visits Parthenia in Chapter 5, where they find that a drought has all but eliminated Feverfew from the area, though there is some in the Imperial Pantry of Parthenia. They also learn that Alena has gathered a small party of adventurers to seek out the Feverfew, but the group is unable to find the secret chamber at the bottom of the cave and is forced to return empty-handed. Canalot (Stancia in the NES version) is a castle-town in Dragon Quest IV. It is built on water, located on a man-made island in the northwest corner of the map, and its inhabitants use gondolas to travel. One gondola is a Weapons Store.

Synopsis
The party visits in Chapter 5, when Canalot's King, Larfur, is offering a reward to anyone who can make him laugh. The party briefly returns to Laissez Fayre to recruit Tom Foolery, then returns, with the intention of having Tom use one of his funniest jokes on the king. But to everyone's surprise, Tom instead delivers an impassioned speech about the fast-encroaching horrors of Hell and the need of the Hero to combat them. The king relents and gives up the Zenithian helm.
Femiscyra (also known as Gardenbur) is a town in Dragon Quest IV.

Story
A castle east of Burland, it is secluded due to its location within an impassable mountain range and a recent volcanic eruption which sealed it off from the outside world; the barrier can only be penetrated with a Magma staff found in the Zamoksva treasury that the party is able to recover and make use of. Femiscyra is inhabited almost exclusively by militant women, with only a few men (such as the priest) scattered here and there.

Upon arrival, The Hero and company are implicated in the theft of the bronze rosary. Though not trusting them entirely, the Queen allows them to prove their innocence, but with one member of the party staying behind bars.

The Hero & his/her allies find the true thief, Kirk Buzzer, in the Cove's Cove and retrieve the rosary. In return, the queen allows the captured party member to go free, and giving them both the Ultimate Key & Zenithian shield.
*If Orifiela is kept in the wagon in the NES Version during the arrival to Zenithia, she will remain in your party for the rest of the game until Psaro the Manslayer is defeated as long as you chose to keep her. Though nothing is changed storywise, aside from not being able to get Doran. The Sony PlayStation and Nintendo DS remake prevent this by having her enter Zenithia once you're in the castle.
Uptaten Towers (Lenoire Castle in the original Japanese version) is a tower dungeon in Dragon Quest V. Located due north of Roundbeck, it is visited by the Hero and Bianca during the first era of the game, and is said to be haunted.

Story
In order to convince some kids to stop tormenting a sabercat cub in Roundbeck, Bianca drags the hero off to banish the ghosts. The doors are initially rusted shut and the two can't open them, so they infiltrate through a backdoor on one of the towers. After crawling past several ghosts lit by flashes of lightning, they encounter the ghost of the Count who once lived here, explaining that everyone was once slain by forces of Nadiria long ago, and their spirits are being tormented by bored undead that have taken residence. He instructs them to obtain a torch from the kitchen in order to navigate through the dark hall to the ringleader, and opens the barred doors.

After retrieving the torch, the two confront the Haunted Housekeeper, however he opens a trap door that sends them to a cooking pot in the kitchen. After fending off some wax murderers, they make their way back to the Housekeeper, who has moved to the balcony. After a tense battle, he surrenders, and vows not to trouble anyone else as they've been disowned by Nadiria. With the spirits free of torment, the Count & Countess thank them, leaving a Gold Orb as a parting gift, though the significance of this orb is not revealed until much later.

It is implied that it was their possession of the Gold Orb that invoked the forces of Nadiria to attack, as it could be used to revive Zenithia.
Notes
*If you are defeated in the dungeon, Bianca will bring the hero back to Roundbeck to rest for the night.
*You can sleep at an inn in the castle that is run by a fire spirit, however upon waking up you will be outside by an old man at a fire, much to Bianca's confusion.
*In the hall of statues, one of them has an odd glint If you examine it, will start tracking you; examine it again and a battle starts with the living statue. It can be tough to fight, but gives a lot of EXP upon defeat.
*Upon collecting all three silver tea set pieces, it is automatically assembled into Toff's tea set.
*Once the main story event here is completed, the mansion no longer has any random encounters. All enemies in this dungeon can later be encountered outside Porgie's Estate in generation 3; only then can a wax murderer or ghost be recruited.
*In the SNES version, if you visited here in later generations, there is a couple that might commit suicide, this was removed from the remakes.
Nera Briscoletti (Flora in the original Japanese version) is a character and possible party member in Dragon Quest V. She is a blue-haired maiden and one of Rodrigo Briscoletti's two daughters.

Appearance and Personality
Nera is a gentle and modest girl, a stark contrast to her rude and outspoken sister Debora. Her outfit is a bright white and pink affair, its intricacies reflecting the rich family she comes from.

Story
start
The player will first meet Nera at the start of the game where she is still a child, seeing both her and her sister for a short time before moving on in the story. Nera will not be seen again until the second generation, where the Hero will catch her runaway dog Bingo shortly after entering Mostroferrato for the first time. Mr. Briscoletti is in possession of the Zenithian shield, and will only give it to the man who marries his daughter. Looking for a man worthy enough to be her groom, he tasks perspective bachelors with retrieving the Circle of Fire & Circle of Water.

When the hero returns with both rings, Nera notices his friend Bianca and wonders if he has feelings for her. Her father asks that he choose between Nera and Bianca, agreeing to finance the wedding either way. Before he can make a decision, her sister Debora emerges and offers herself as a last minute bachelorette. If the player chose Nera, the two marry and she will continue to travel with you as the hero's wife. If the player does not marry her, Nera will marry Crispin Burns and live with him in the Briscoletti's second home.

Upon reaching the hero's homeland, the kingdom of Gotha, it is revealed that Nera is pregnant and she will stay in the castle to rest until it is time. After he returns from the Riteof Passage, she gives birth to twins: a boy and a girl. The hero is coronated as the new King of Gotha - but after a night of celebrations, Nera is abducted by monsters while most of the castle inhabitants were passed out. While attempting to rescue her from Kon the Knight at his towers, it is learned that she has the blood of the legendary hero - and for this reason she and her husband are turned to stone by Bishop Ladja.

In the eight years that pass, Nera's petrified form ended up at the temple of Crocodilopolis. The hero and the children are able to finally free her, who rejoins the party. Together, they travel to Nadiria to find the hero's mother, Madeline, and defeat the Grandmaster of the Underworld.
end

Equipment, Stats, and Abilities
Nera can equip most knives, whips, and staves. Her selection is virtually identical to Bianca, except she cannot wear the Metal King Helm.
In the Super Famicom version of the game, Nera could only make it to Level 10 in the second generation, as well as being uncontrollable. The Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS versions remove this limitation and allows her to be controlled in the second generation.
The Sage is a recurring vocation in the Dragon Quest series. Proficient with both schools of magic, they are often the most powerful casters in their respective games.

Requirements
Irrespective of the title is being played, the path of the Sage always entails steep prerequisites.

Dragon Quest III
In order for a party member to become a Sage, that member must be level 20 and have the Words of Wisdom and take it to the Alltrades Abbey. There, they may become a Sage. The Gadabout is the only class that doesn't need the scroll to become a Sage; instead, all they need is to reach level 20.

Dragon Quest VI
In order to become a Sage, the party member must first master the Mage and the Priest vocations.

Dragon Quest VII
In order to become a sage in Dragon Quest VII, the party member must first master both the Priest and Mage classes. As a Sage, that particular party member's spells will cost less MP to cast as their rank increases, eventually casting for only 50% of the original cost.
(The Sage vocation is late in the game after completing Quest 115. Sages have the unique skillset "Enlightenment", and can also use skill points to learn Boomerang, Bow, Wand, and Shield skills. Their Coup-de-Grace is "Spelly Breath," which recharges a portion of their MP.

Sages are no longer the literal hybrid of mage and Priests, but nevertheless have access to incredible magical capabilities. They can reinforce the party with kabuff and magic barrier, decimate foes with darkness and explosions, and keep their allies alive with Multi-and-Moreheal. However, Sages can't deal the same level of damage Magi can, nor can they heal as effectively as a Priest. Thus, parties seeking powerful multi-target damage should stick with a Mage, and those wanting powerful healing spells should stick with a Priest. On the other hand, combining the elements of a Mage and a Priest can free up a slot in the party, allowing for more versatile combinations.
In order to become a Hero, one must master three intermediate classes or two intermediate classes and an advanced class. The player can also obtain a Hero Heart from defeating God in 19 turns or less.
