Zoma, the Master Archfiend of the Dark World, is the final villain and chief antagonist of DQ3.

Appearance and personality
Zoma is a blue demon dressed in the golden robes of an emperor and wearing a purple cape that attaches to his shoulders in large horizontal pads. A red, white, and black banner covers his torso as well as his knees, and wraps around his neck as a large collar. His face is skeletal with tight skin and an open nasal cavity. His skull is disproportional to his body, featuring a massive eye in the center and two large, upwards curving horns on both sides.

Zoma is a demon of unfathomable power, whose sorcery is so great that he was able to imprison the kingdom of Alefgard in a shroud of eternal night. Due to this, he was able to sustain himself on the despair of the people trapped within, bolstering his physical might so much that he was able to shatter a sword made of Orichalcum, albeit after a prolonged effort of three years. His incredible strength is supported by a mastery of ice magic and freezing breath, and it is said that the very air becomes chilled by his mere presence. Zoma is also the first boss in the series to make use of the infamous Disruptive Wave technique, stripping his enemies of any support spells.

The Archfiend resides in his Citadel in Alefgard, where he feeds on the fear and despair of the kingdom's inhabitants and cloaking himself in an impenetrable shroud of darkness that no spell can pierce. However, Zoma is weakened by the Sphere of Light and the shroud is destroyed when the ball is used in battle. Upon being defeated by the Hero (as well as Terry in DQM), Zoma mockingly congratulates his vanquisher but warns that his death will not bring an end to the world's suffering, and that a new evil shall arise to take his place long after the Hero has died. He is proven correct that the darkness yet to come will throw Alefgard into despair, but failed to realize that the lineage of heroes will resurface to restore light to the world.

Appearances
DQ3
Near the end of the game, Zoma is revealed to be the master of the archfiend Baramos, whom had been previously alluded to as the final boss to the game. Upon the death of his chief servant, Zoma's voice roars throughout the throne room of Aliahan castle, stating that his intent to plunge the "world of light" into darkness and that the Hero is a fool for assuming that he had won peace. This proclamation sends the king of Aliahan into a deep despair, forbidding the Hero and company from speaking of Zoma.

Zoma is on the basement floor of his castle along with three sub-bosses--the King Hydra along with the ghost and the skeleton of Baramos. He approaches and berates to the Hero 3 prior to allowing his three subordinates to fight the hero's party before him.
Remove his shield immediately with the Sphere of Light; without it, Zoma is immune to everything you can throw at him. On top of this, he will regenerate 90~110 HP per round, minimizing any damage players can inflict between healing sessions.

Once the cloak of ice is removed, Zoma's defensive capabilities will plummet considerably: Sap, Zap, and all forms of fire will hit 100% of the time, and his regeneration will be nixed. Woosh spells have a 30% chance to connect, but a priest is better off casting healing spells to inflict damage when they aren't restoring the party.
Zoma appears as a S-rank monster of the ??? family as part of the limited Dragon Quest III event, appearing on his own banner alongside Boss Troll. He can learn Frigid Breath, Psycannon, and Glacial Doom naturally. Zoma's personal skill Dark Robes reduces damage taken by 20% for 3 turns at the start of battle and his Leader Perk raises Crack-type potency for allies by 20% in a 5x5 square around him, including himself. He can be faced in the event quest Chapter 5, Episode 4: Archfiend Zoma, as well as his own boss battle. Zoma can also take part in Skelegon's Battle Road as a party member.

Trivia
*In the original version of III, Zoma's primary color palette is not shown until after his shield of ice is removed due to a glitch. This error was corrected in the SNES remake.

Bianca Whitaker (ビアンカ, Bianka) is a character in DQ5. She is a childhood friend of the Hero and one of his possible brides.

She has been a regular participant in the Itadaki Street series, appears as a special guest in Dragon Quest IX, and is one of the thirteen original playable characters in DQH. Bianca also appears as a special Hero character in DQTact alongside Nera and Debora.

Appearance and Personality
As a young girl, Bianca wore her blonde hair in two braided pigtails with purple hairbands and she wears a long myrtle green cape over an orange dress. She has blue eyes. Bianca also wears silver bracelets, a belt with a silver buckle around her waist, dangling pink earrings, and black shoes with myrtle green socks. As an adult, Bianca wears her hair in a single braid with a silver hairband on the right side of her face and a myrtle green dress with an orange cloak attached. She still wears the same earrings and bracelets she did as a child, as well as a black belt with a silver buckle around her waist, a silver choker, and black leather boots worn with myrtle green stockings held up by string. Bianca is known as a great beauty, and many of the men in Stockenbarrel and Mostroferrato comment on her attractiveness.

Like most other characters, her appearance in Heroes has been embellished slightly. Bianca now wears brown, knee-high leather boots held up with myrtle green ribbons at the top and black thigh-high stockings. Her belt is now yellow with black triangular designs all around it. Bianca's dress and cloak are embroidered with silver and gold designs respectively and her choker is now gold with small green gems decorating it.

Bianca is something of a tomboy as a child and she has a strong sense of justice, demonstrated when she deals with the bullies in Roundbeck. She has a love of the outdoors and enjoys going on adventures with The Hero, even when the two grow up. In the ten years that pass between their encounters, Bianca has become strong and independent, having to deal with the loss of her mother and her father's sickness. She is known for her good heart and is beloved by the people of Stockenbarrel. She is humble as well, putting the happiness of The Hero before herself when faced with the difficult prospect of choosing a bride and wishes happiness for him at his wedding if he marries either Nera or Debora.

Appearances
DQ5
The Hero and his father first meet Bianca Whitaker as a child in Whealbrook. She and her mother are in town getting medicine for her father. After the herb-maker is found in a cave, Pankraz escorts them back to their home in Roundbeck.

Pankraz is thinking of returning, but agrees to stay the night and catches a cold, and the party is unable to leave. While wandering around town with The Hero, they meet two kids who are bullying a sabrecat cub. After some discussion, they agree to give up the cat if they can defeat the ghosts at Uptaten Towers. This quest is successful, and she names the sabercat, also giving it a ribbon.

Bianca is not seen again until much later after the first timeskip. While searching for the Circle of Water as part of Mr. Briscoletti's tasks, The Hero stops in Stockenbarrel where he meets up with Bianca again. She unlocks a gate blocking the path to the Cataract Caves where the ring is stored, and accompanies him back to the town of Mostroferrato. Mr. Briscoletti asks him to choose whether he'll marry Bianca or his daughter Nera (or his other daughter Debora, in the Nintendo DS remake). If the player chose Bianca, the two marry and she will continue to travel with you as The Hero's wife.

Upon reaching The Hero's homeland, the kingdom of Gotha, it is revealed that Bianca is pregnant and she will stay in the castle to rest until it is time. After he returns from the Riteof Passage, she gives birth to twins: a boy and a girl. The Hero is coronated as the new King of Gotha. After a night of celebrations, Bianca is abducted by monsters while most of the castle inhabitants were passed out. While attempting to rescue her from Kon the Knight at his tower, it is learned that she has the blood of The Legendary Hero - and for this reason she and her husband are turned to stone by Bishop Ladja.

In the eight years that pass, Bianca's petrified form ended up at the temple of Crocodilopolis. The Hero and the children are able to finally free her, who rejoins the party. Together, they travel to Nadiria to find The Hero's mother, Madeline, and defeat the Grandmaster of the Underworld.

If the player does not marry Bianca, she will return to Stockenbarrel and remain there throughout the game with her father, (whose health will recover regardless of who The Hero marries). She will not marry, but apparently has admirers and will not meet an unhappy fate in any version of the game, contrary to Internet rumors that said her father would die and she would end up as a mistreated, sad bar maid in Mostroferrato.

Stats
Bianca can equip most knives, whips, and staves. Her armor selection includes lightweight tunics, robes, and female-exclusive equipment, but her choice in shields is limited. Unlike the other brides, she can wear the Metal king helm.

Since Bianca is briefly a party member during the first generation, she starts out at level 1 and learns early magic spells, so unlike the other brides, she has a full selection of fire magic. In the Super Famicom version, when she rejoins at Stockenbarrel, she will automatically be leveled to level 10. In the PS2 version, her level will be the level she was as a child plus 2. In the DS and Cell phone versions, her level will be the level she was as a child plus 10.

Spells
Bianca has a similar spell list to Nera, but she has fewer spells overall since she lacks Midheal, Kaboom and Tick-tock. She does possess the lowest level versions of Frizz and Sizz, which Nera lacks... but Nera has their higher level variants which outclass them in every way (aside from spell cost). Ultimately, Bianca is a decent mage but her advantages over Nera lie elsewhere, such as starting at a higher level, having slightly better physical strength, and being able to equip Metal King Helm, which Nera cannot.

In contrast, she is overall a superior mage to Debora, possessing all but one of Debora's spells (Whack), and a few that Debora does not (most notably, the Frizz line of spells).

Bianca appears as one of the special guests at the Quester's Rest in Stornway. This could be obtained when the DQVC was available using Nintendo's Wi-Fi Channel. When spoken to, Bianca gives the player different pieces of her outfit for fulfilling certain conditions.
*Bianca's clothes - Received when talking to her.
*Bianca's bracelets - Received after the inn is fully expanded.
*Bianca's braid - Received when it is the player's birthday.
*Bianca's boots - Received when the Hero is a Mage.
The player will receive the Accolade "Best Friend Bride" when having acquired all pieces of her outfit.
The Luminary can visit the Briscoletti mansion on the eve of the wedding via the Echo Chamber in the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Due to the actions of a monster sealed away by the Briscoletti ancestor Rodolfo, Bianca has been turned into an exact duplicate of Rodrigo on the eve of her wedding day. Thankfully, the groom is still away from the mansion and the monster has been located in Alltrades Abbey.

Bianca is very worried about how her father might handle her sudden transformation, fretting about how poor his health is already and that he doesn't need a major shock such as this. Once the transformation has been undone, she expresses her gratitude to the Luminary. She also mentions that he reminds her of the potential groom, and reminisces about their adventure in Uptaten towers.

Bianca also plays a role in the sabrecat incident at Chateau Felix, loaning her ribbon out to tame Saber once again. She will be happy to have been of help, and glad that her childhood pet has returned.

Bianca is one of the thirteen playable characters in the first game. She and Nera Briscoletti have been mysteriously transported to the land of Arba in the Dwarven settlement of Grannet on the night before one of them is about to get married. In order to differentiate her from other playable characters, Bianca uses bows as her weapon of choice in the game, and can cast both Frizz and Snooze in battle. Her Coup de Grâce is Ribbon Let Die, where she uses her ribbon to summon her trusty great sabrecat companion, here named Purrcy, who rushes out and strikes any enemies in front of her. Bianca can also be played in co-op dungeons in Heroes II, but cannot be used in the regular story mode.

Dragon Quest Live Spectacle Tour
Bianca appears as a character in the stage production played by actress Maho Tomita.

Dragon Quest Tact
Bianca appears as a S-rank character of the Hero family as part of the limited Dragon Quest V event, appearing on her own banner along with Snowbird. The player can choose to have her join as a companion in the Circle of Water event quest. She can learn Oomph, Whipcrackle, and Rain of Thunder naturally and her Coup de Grâce is Zenithian Strike. Her Leader Perk raises the Zap-type physical potency of allies, including herself, in a 5x5 square around her by 20%. She also appears as a boss in the special Zenithian Brides boss battle with Nera and Debora.
Knightmare Towers
The reason them monsters used the Chancellor to snatch me away was so they could lure you into a trap. The ringleader says he's goin' to kill you and then become king in your place! ==Etymology==
Bianca is the Italian form of the name Blanche, which means "white, pure", contrasting her with Nera, whose name means black in Italian.

Trivia
*In Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Dragon Quest Heroes, Bianca speaks with a Cornish accent.
*Jessica Albert compliments Bianca's bow arm in Heroes and states that she'd probably be good with a whip, too, referencing the fact that she can equip whips in her original game and the developers were initially considering her whips as a weapon.

The Prince of Cannock is a character in the DQSeries that appears as a playable party member in DQ2. He is one of three descendents of Erdrick who journeys to defeat Hargon after his attack on Moonbrooke, and is the second playable character added to the party. He also has a sister who is the Princess of Cannock.

The Prince of Cannock's abilities are a mix between both of his cousins, the Prince of Midenhall and the Princess of Moonbrooke. Though he is physically strong, he is weaker than the Prince of Midenhall, and while he can use magic, most of his spells are not as powerful as those available to the Princess of Moonbrooke. In terms of statistics and spell choices, the Prince of Cannock has more in common with the other Heroes of the series.

Upon learning of the tragedy that befell Moonbrooke, the Prince of Cannock set out on a journey, first travelling to the Wellspring of the Hero. Later, he met the Prince of Midenhall at the inn in Leftwyne, where the two cousins joined forces and began travelling together.

Appearance and personality
Of the three titular luminaries of the legendary line, the Prince of Cannock falls in the middle in terms of height. In the Japanese box art and all other versions of the game, the prince has shaggy orange hair and wears a green tabard with Erdrick's crest on the chest and an orange cape attached over black clothes. He also wears green gloves and boots, as well as a pair of goggles on his head. In the American box art for the NES version of the game, he is still wearing the odd goggles on his head, but his tunic has been replaced with a full suit of green armor. The Prince is also seen carrying a green shield with a red jewel in the middle and wields a nondescript rapier.

In the Japanese version, the Prince is described as a slacker, a drinker, and an overall really fun guy; however, in the NES American version the Prince of Cannock is described as a studious young man immersed in his studies. This is presumably due to the heavy censorship Nintendo of America enforced during the late 80s and early 90s. Later versions are loyal to the Japanese script and refer to the Prince in the same way.

Appearances
DQ2
The Prince of Cannock sets out to aid his cousin, the Prince of Middenhall, when word of the sacking of Moonbrooke castle reaches him. Unfortunately, the Prince does not stay in one place for long and leads the player on a wild goose chase until meeting up with him at the inn of Leftwyne.

Later in the game in all versions besides the NES original, the prince becomes ill after staying at the inn in Beran. The other heroes can travel to a small island with a single tree tile upon it and retrieve a Yggdrasil Leaf in order to cure him and continue adventuring, or may leave him behind. Doing such only slightly affects the ending of the game, where the prince's dialogue bemoans how awful his luck is.
Equipment
The Prince of Cannock can equip a wide variety of weapons and armor, though not as many as the Prince of Midenhall, nor as potent. When fighting Hargon, he should be wearing: Magic Armor, the Iron Spear or Falcon Sword, and the Shield of Strength. In remake versions of the game, he has access to a wider variety of equipment, such as Erdrick's Sword and the Aurora Blade.
When the Luminary visits Cannock and speaks with the king, the monarch explains that his son vanished in a puff of smoke the moment he declared his intent to vanquish the Children of Hargon, and asks the Luminary to seek him out. True to form, the Prince of Cannock is always one step ahead of the party, and the group must visit the Roamer Encampment, the Imperial Pantry of Parthenia, and Whealbrook before being told the young man is wandering in the Neverglade forest.

He is featured in three different cards, referencing his meeting with the Prince of Midenhall in Leftwyne, his illness in the town of Beran, and the prince casting Kamikazee.
The maniacal jester and his corrupted form await the party in Memories Lane. The slime crown is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series, based on the crown worn by king slimes and related slime family. It's gold-brimmed with green-purple fabric. While it can be worn as a helmet, it is an ingredient of many powerful items when combined with other alchemy ingredients, especially Orichalcum and Gold Bar.

Appearances
Dragon Quest VII
In the Nintendo 3DS port of Dragon Quest VII, the Slime crown is reward upon the first completion of the DLC Tablet The Test of Slime by defeating Hammer.

The Slime crown has a defence bonus of +31, as well as style bonus of +24, and can be equipped by anyone.
Dragon Quest VIII
A slime crown can be found inside the well in Hilltop Hut and inside a barrel in Tryan Gully. It can be also dropped by King Slime (Rare drop, 1/256) and Metal King Slime (Common Drop, 1/128), but not King Cureslime. As an alchemy ingredient, it is used in recipes to make Metal King Armour, Liquid Metal Sword, and King Axe.

In the Nintendo 3DS Version, a second and third crown are found in a chest in the room following Argon Lizard in Memoriam in Memories Lane and from completing the the Killing Machine Card of Cameron's Codex, respectively.

The Slime crown itself has a defence bonus of +20. It can be worn by Yangus and Morrie.
Dragon Quest IX
A slime crown may be found in the ruins of Gerzuun. When the DQVC was still running, slime crowns were purchasable, particularly during the Slime Sale and Metal Slime Time weeks. They are useful for ultimately upgrading the metal slime equipment into metal king equipment, as well as other kingly-themed pieces of equipment.
Calasmos is the true evil behind the events of DQ11, and serves as the game's final boss in the third act of the game. An ancient evil known as the Dark One, he once attempted to cover the world in darkness long ago.

Characteristics
Calasmos first appears as a black Tockle with a small nebula in the center of its body, being the form its soul was ensnared in after its temporary defeat by Erdwin several centuries before the game's story. In his true form, Calasmos is a colossal, humanoid insect whose green exoskeleton is pitted with small craters that betray his otherworldly origin. The connective tissue at the joints is blue, and the head is infantile and almost perfectly round. Calasmos has no neck to speak of, with its head being ensconced by its armor.

The monster's precise height is unknown and varies slightly between the HD, 3DS, and 2D versions of the game but easily towers over the main cast. The upper torso is bulky and fitted with six small orbs over an oval center gem. The arms are as long as the main body and terminate into different appendages, with the right being a three-pronged claw with an inorganic nozzle and the left ending in a digitless stump possessing six bullet chamber-esque opening from which projectiles are fired. The lower torso is made up of overlapping armor plates that rattle with the creature's movements, and the legs are undersized for the hulking body.

Calasmos' personality is one of almighty contempt for being that dwell in the light, and it seeks to eradicate all life on the planet.

History
Calasmos is a being of alien origin to the planet Erdrea, who did battle with Yggdragon untold years ago. Though victorious in the clash, this act would sow the seeds of its own ruin as Yggdragon became Yggdrasil.

Years later, it was confronted by powerful resistance in the form of Erdwin and his companions, and Calasmos was defeated in the Gallopolis desert. It was at this time that the monster revealed the depths of its cunning, stalling its demise by whispering promises of power and glory to Morcant and corrupting the wizard to stab Erdwin in the back before the final blow could be delivered. Though Morcant, now Mordegon, would prove to be a thorn in Calasmos' side in the future, the manipulation proved successful and the allowed it to escape the sealing of its body in Erdwin's Lantern.

During the short-lived reign of Mordegon in the second act of the game, Calasmos journeys to the now-descending Lantern to merge with its original body, but it is destroyed by Mordegon before it can complete the required incantation to start the process. Calasmos' Tockle form collapses to it's knees in despair and remains motionless after these events, with only a long line of ellipses being displayed when it is spoken to.

Though confronted with a tremendous setback, Calasmos trails the Luminary when he discovers the Tower of Lost Time. Calasmos manages to defy the rule preventing more than one person from being brought back and secretly travels with the Luminary as he rewrites time. Calasmos consistently prevents Mordegon from touching the Sword of Light, driving the demon sorcerer's patience to its limits and causing him to abandon subtlety and reveal himself. After his death, Erdwin's Lantern descends and Calasmos makes his way to the desert once more. This time he successfully regains his original body while declaring that all life would be destroyed.

Afterwards, he gestates inside the Lantern, now in the form of a dark star, until he's confronted by the Luminary.

Strategy
One popular favorite strategy for defeating Calasmos is bringing the Luminary, Erik, Veronica 11, and someone who can poison, like Sylvando, to exploit Erik's Victimiser skill to deal 600% damage. Apply Oomphle when possible and have Erik use his Divide skill for a total of 1,800% damage.

Alternatively, Veronica and Serena 11 and use their mighty magic burst pep power to deal up to 5994 damage in one turn. This will leave both girls spent until MP restoring items are used.
To optimize the Mighty Magic Burst strategy, pep both twins before the battle starts by any means necessary, and make sure every party member on the frontline (including the 2 characters not participating in the nuking) carry at least 1 Elfin elixir and at least 1 Pep Pop(it must be a Pep Pop and not a Pep Pip). Use the Sword of Light to dispel the damage-halving effect on Calasmos. Use Mighty Magic Burst at the first possible opportunity afterwards. On the next 3 actions you get (regardless of who gets these actions), use Elfin elixirs on the twins followed by a Pep Pop to pep both twins at once (note that you can delay these actions in order to heal as needed). Both twins should be at max MP and pepped. Use another cast of Mighty Magic Burst at the first possible opportunity, and as long as the twins' combined MP equals or exceeds 1834 (meaning Mighty Magic Burst deals 5502 or more damage), Calasmos will be dead.

Trivia
* Calasmos shares an English voice actor, Rasmus Hardiker, with the Luminary himself. In the Switch version of the game, his Japanese voice actor, Kōki Miyata, also voices Prince Charmles in the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, as well as Dragon Quest Rivals.
Alena is a character in the DQSeries that appears as a playable party member in DQ4. She is the Tsarevna/princess of Zamoksva, but dreams of becoming the strongest fighter alive. Against the will of her father, she embarks on a journey to prove her strength to the world, accompanied by Kiryl and Borya in the second chapter.

She is also one of the thirteen playable characters in DQH and is one of the original leader characters from Dragon Quest Rivals.

Appearance and personality
With her cape and pointed hat, Alena somewhat resembles the female mage from DQ3, though she possesses no magical aptitude at all. Though regarded by some as a tomboy, Alena does not forgo her feminine side; she is simply too concerned with improving her strength to be tied down by bothersome traditions and dictations of "proper" conduct. Nevertheless, she does enjoy adding the occasional accessory to her attire.

Alena is a definitive spitfire, unafraid to speak her mind and dead-set on reaching her goals. Despite her high aspirations, Alena is far from the stereotypically serious martial artist, and sees the world around her with the wide eyes of wonder befitting her age. She tires of being coddled by her father and the inhabitants of Castle Zamoksva, and is eager to see the world that she knows exists beyond her bedroom window. Though very stubborn, Alena is far from thick-headed; she immediately jumps on board when faced with her destiny of helping the Hero counter the threat the Lord of the Underworld posses to the world.

Alena has a very competitive nature as well as a love for fighting. As seen through her party chat, she is always itching for sparring opponents to improve her own fighting skills, which is usually the first thing on her mind. When first meeting the Hero, who is looking for the same item she is, Alena declares the search as a competition for who can find the Feverfew Root first. Alena is shown to care greatly for her father and her kingdom, visibly being very concerned when the entire populace of Zamoksva disappeared, and when Kiryl fell under a deadly illness. Later, Alena shows righteous anger when discovering that the monsters were behind the disappearances and develops an unfaltering resolve to defeat the Lord of the Underworld so that her people may return.

Starting with the localization of the DS remake, Alena speaks with a Slavic dialect.

Appearances
DQ4
startChapter 2 begins with Alena begging her father, the King of Zamoksva, to let her explore the world, since strong fighters are needed more and more in their troubled times, with the Underworld creeping out of dormancy. However, he refuses, saying that with monsters showing increasing aggression, it's simply too dangerous to let her leave the safety of the castle. Alena goes back to her room but, within a few minutes, has been overcome with frustration and escapes the castle.

Kiryl and Borya, her retainers, give chase; they're resigned to not being able to make her stay put, but if she's going to leave, they can't allow her to travel alone. The three set out and soon come to a small village being terrorized by a local monster continually demanding young girls as a sacrifice. Alena immediately heads to the local church to offer herself as the next sacrifice, but she has no intention of dying; as soon as the demon shows its face, she, Kiryl, and Borya spring into action and take it out, saving the village.

After journeying straight to the far ends of Zamoksva, the nomadic Desert Bazaar, she learns her father is has become mute. Retrieving some birdsong nectar to treat him, he admits that he was mistaken in his over-protectiveness, and opens the Travel Gate to Endor. On arrival, Alena finds the local princess bemoaning her fate, because her father has promised her hand to the winner of the Tournament of Endor, an annual fighting competition, and her father is seriously regretting this promise. Though she hears rumblings of an extremely dangerous entrant named Psaro the Manslayer, Alena enters and gets to the finals, only to find that her opponent, who would have been Psaro, was a no show. By winning the tournament, Alena absolve the Princess of her duty.

However, even as she is celebrating her victory a Zamoksva soldier rushes in and cries that she must return to the castle at once, then dies at the scene. The party returns to the Castle but finds it completely devoid of life. They set out to investigate and the chapter ends abruptly.

Alena and her companions are not seen again until Chapter 5, when Kiryl has fallen under a dangerous fever and is bedridden at Mintos. Alena and a band of three mercenaries set out to the weed's reported location to try and recover some to cure Kiryl, but fails. However, the Hero of succeeds, and upon learning of their destiny the three immediately join the party for the remainder of the game. Some time later, they return to Zamoksva, finding the cause of its troubles to be the demon Baalzack, whom they kill in retribution and for the greater good.end
clear
Base stats
Alena corresponds to the Martial Artist vocation. She has high strength, hit points, and agility; however her equipment selection is somewhat limited (compared to the Hero, Ragnar McRyan, and Torneko Taloon). She can wear most armor up to chain mail, but can wield only clubs, whips and her special weapon, claws. Due to her stat progression she has the highest luck of all party members, enabling her to frequently dodge debilitating spells.

Additionally, Alena's critical hit formula is very different from the other chosen; instead of a fixed 1/64 chance, her ratio is dependent on her level. In the NES and PS1 version, the formula is LvL/256, while in the Nintendo DS remake it is calculated as LvL(3/4)/256. Both will cap at level 64, giving probabilities up to 25% and 19% respectively. Interestingly, her formula was changed yet again for the iOS/Android versions with her cap being changed to level 89, restoring the 25% ratio.
