Nintendo was the creator of the main platforms for the Dragon Quest series up to and including [[Dragon Quest VI]]. With [[Dragon Quest VII]], [[Sony]]'s [[Playstation]] became the main platform. However, Dragon Quest games continued to be released for Nintendo handheld platforms, and Dragon Quest X is being developed for Nintendo's Wii system.
