Gold golems appeared from the beginning of the game. They originally dropped 550 gold when defeated and could only be faced as a companion to other monsters. They use no abilities to speak of in this game, but are still strong opponents. In Version 1.5, the amount of gold they dropped was increased to 2,550. The golems have a tendency to be found in the hidden rooms of Magic Labyrinths alongside gem jamborees. They have a high chance of dropping both gold nuggets and gold bars.

Gold golem appears as an A-rank monster of the Inorganic family, first appearing exclusively as enemies during the original Dragon Quest I event, as well as in the daily Gold Quest: Advanced and Ultra missions. They often appear as enemies on levels where large masses of gold can be accumulated alongside other gold-themed monsters like Goodybags and Balhibs.
They could eventually be scouted during the A Winter Wonderland with the Ice Witch event alongside Santa Krystalinda on her banner. It can participate in the Jolly sasquash's banner as a party member. Starting with Version 4.0, it can be scouted normally from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout.

The Gold golem is a monster in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
These golems are known for their gleaming golden bodies. Like the other golems, they have a pair of glowing yellow eyes poking out of the darkness from their heads. They are one of go-to monsters for adventurers who want to amass piles of gold quickly and tend to be weaker than their clay or stone counterparts. This is appropriate, as gold is one of the softest metals. In later games, the gold golems gained the ability to preserve their strength and even land desperate attacks on their opponents. They also have a tendency to drop golden jewelry or pieces of gold that can be used for Alchemy and item crafting.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Gold golems appeared from the beginning of the game. They originally dropped 550 gold when defeated and could only be faced as a companion to other monsters. They use no abilities to speak of in this game, but are still strong opponents. In Version 1.5, the amount of gold they dropped was increased to 2,550. The golems have a tendency to be found in the hidden rooms of Magic Labyrinths alongside gem jamborees. They have a high chance of dropping both gold nuggets and gold bars.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
