The vladiator is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest III. It is the strongest of the three vampire types in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, haunting the northern steppes of Mur.

Description Venerable vampires that have lived longer than most other monsters. As such, they are strong beyond compare and have, perhaps ironically, gained a good grasp on healing magic.

Etymology

As with the other two vampires, the Vladiator is named after Vlad Tepes III, also known as Vlad the Impaler. The Japanese name, Barnabus, is a reference to the character in the vampire soap opera Dark Shadows.
