| The Dragon Quest series surpassed 100 million units sold, counting both physical shipments and digital sales. Square Enix shared a video of Yuji Horii thanking fans for reaching the milestone. |

| The newest Nintendo Direct had two Dragon Quest announcements: a demo for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World and Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko's Mystery Dungeon HD, an HD remaster of Torneko's original adventure. Both released on all current platforms shortly after the presentation. |

| New details on Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World have been provided by Square Enix. Bianca and Nera will have a new power: The Wrangler’s Spirit. This power can be used once per battle, and its effects are different depending on who unleashes it. |
