The Terrornodon is a monster in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Terrornodons are monstrous pterosaurs with purple scales known for casting instant death spells on adventurers. In later games, they gained the ability to breathe out a breath of darkness or ice-cold blasts. According to its monster description in Dragon Quest X, they were resurrected from the underworld. Its appearance is similar to the Rhamphorhynchus, a long-tailed pterosaur that lived during the Jurassic period.

Dragon Quest Rivals[edit | edit source]

The Terrornodon appeared as a rare card exclusive for Demon Swordsman leaders in the 6th card pack, "A Symphony of Small Hope".

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Terrornodon has the distinction of only appearing in remake versions of Dragon Quest IV. It has a sprite and stats in the original Famicom version of the game, but it cannot actually be encountered anywhere. It shares this in common with four other monsters that can be encountered at sea: Axolotl, Glugworm, Mangler fish, and Maulrus.
