The Fur coat is a recurring piece of clothing in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a warm coat made of fur that provides a decent amount of protection.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The coat's original design is an ankle-length cloak made from brown fur with white lining, a hood, and gold clasps near the wearer's neck. This design would be used many years later in Treasures. In remake versions of the game, the fur coat's design was changed to a more modern style made of light grey fur with darker grey fur lining.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]
The Fur coat has a Defence bonus of +22 and can be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar, Alena, Kiryl, Torneko, Maya, and Meena. It can be purchased for 600 gold from Ballymoral, Havre Léon, and Bath. One can be found during the fourth stage of the Pioneer Town. The coat can also be dropped by Sweaty yetis, Powie yowies, and Cheater cheetahs.
Dragon Quest Treasures[edit | edit source]
Known as the Fur robe in this game, it is Treasure No. 181 in the Armour 1 category and can be found on Cinderback Ridge. Its base value is 72,000 gold. This game features the original design from the NES version of IV.
