The Hell sabre is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series, being an ebony sword with white edges and an unsettling, vein-like pattern starting from the bone-like hilt up to two-thirds of the blade. Originally being exclusive to monster allies, it has since become available to human characters.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit | edit source]
The hell sabre has an attack bonus of +120. However, this infernal blade can only be wielded by Barbatos, Dwight, Golem, Killing Machine, Magic marionette, Mudraker, Revaulting Horse, Rockbomb, Starkers, Walking Corpse, Wax Murderer. It's found in Estark's Labyrinth and is dropped by the barbatos at a rate of 1/64.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]
The hell sabre has an attack bonus of +99 and can be sold for 7,300 Gold Coins. It can only be wielded by Angelo and is found in the Troll Maze.
