Wilted Heart

Wilted Heart (メモリアリーフ Memoria Reef/Leaf, formerly Mentare) is a town found on the same island as Greenthumb Gardens in Dragon Quest VII. There is also a nearby Mountain Pass leading to the Regrette-Rien Convent.

History

30 Years After Greenthumb Gardens Scenario

Wilted Heart is founded by Carraway after he leaves Greenthumb Gardens. He creates his own herb garden in a field east of Greenthumb Gardens. Due to Carraway's gardening skills and his business savvy, Wilted Heart becomes more successful than Greenthumb Gardens. The party is able to visit the town after El Magnifico Puente de Pomposo is opened.

Present

Only the town of Wilted Heart exists in the present. The success of Wilted Heart eventually causes Greenthumb Gardens to collapse. The current owner of the herb garden is very wealthy. However, he spends much of his time chasing maids around dressed like a thug.

Usage of Wilted Heart in another area

• The Mountain Pass layout is used in Cave to Another World in the Sony PlayStation port of the game. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the Mountain Pass also appears in various DLC Tablets and Traveller's Tablets that can be created by the player.

Trivia

There is a spelling error in Mentare in the PS1 version of Dragon Quest VII. One of the old women says:

"It's rally amazing that they could afford to build all this just by selling herbs."
