The Steel scythe is a scythe in Dragon Quest VIII.

The Steel scythe has an Attack bonus of +42 and can only be equipped by Yangus. It can be purchased for 3,700 gold from Baccarat, Savella Cathedral, and Neos, and sold for 1,650 gold. It has a ¹⁄₂₅₆ chance of being dropped by Fallen priest. The steel scythe can be mixed to create other weapons in the Alchemy Pot.

In the Nintendo 3DS version, a Steel scythe can be obtained by obtaining 13 stamps in the Cameron's Codex sidequest and completing the Restless Armour Card.
