The [[Hero (Dragon Quest III)|heroine]] cannot become an amazon at the start of the game. However, if the female heroine parties with the Pirate Captain in [[Pirates' Den]] and say "Yes" on living a life like her after defeating [[Baramos]], the heroine will have the amazon personality.

Other female party members have a chance to be an amazon when recruited as any class, depending on their stat bonuses.
