Starstrike can be learned by [[Mage]]s, [[Thief|Thieves]], [[Luminary (vocation)|Luminaries]], [[Monster Master]]s, and [[Fortune Teller]]s by investing 35 points into their Whip skill. It differs from most whip skills by targeting a single enemy with the physical strike itself, but the burst of light-elemental energy also damages surrounding enemies for 40% of the initial strike's total. The dazzle effect can last for up to one minute.
* In the {{Offline}} version of the game, it can be learned by the {{Hero 10}} as a [[Mage]], [[Thief]], or [[Luminary (vocation)|Luminary]] and [[Duston]] through the ''Whips'' panel in their character builders for 5 and 7 skill points respectively. It inflicts 100% light-elemental damage to a single group of enemies and has a chance to dazzle them, as well. The skill's damage and status ailment infliction rate can be increased further with skill-up panels.

However, Veronica is only able to learn the skill after her character builder has been expanded in the postgame. It costs 5 MP to use and deals 110% light-elemental damage to one enemy group, with a 25% chance to dazzle each target.
