'''Stornway''' is a town in {{Dragon Quest IX}}.

It is one of the first towns visited by the {{Hero 9}}. It is home to the [[Quester's Rest]] [[inn]] and is generally considered the "central" location in the game, despite only being involved in the early plot. The region surrounding the town shares the name [[Stornway (region)|Stornway]]. 

Much of Stornway's importance is related to the [[Quester's Rest]] [[inn]]. It makes Stornway the hub for changing {{Party 9}} members, accessing multiplayer, and [[DQVC]] features of {{Dragon Quest IX}}. The town adds two additional shops after completing the main story of the game. In the post game, Stornway has many quests which are focused on its royal family, kingdom history, and characters in the [[Quester's Rest]].

==Synopsis==

Stornway is the first town to be visited after [[Angel Falls]]. It is the first location with a castle that the player visits. The player can access it after the road to Angel Falls has been cleared by the castle guards. This happens after the player visits and clears [[The Hexagon]].

Arriving in Stornway, the player becomes involved in the saga with the [[Wight Knight]] and [[List of characters in Dragon Quest IX#Princess Simona|Princess Simona]]. This involves trips to a clearing north of the castle, as well as [[Brigadoom]]. After resolving he conflict, King Schott tells the player that the checkpoint east of the castle is now open, allowing passage to [[Coffinwell]].

In addition to the main plot, Stornway is also where the player sees [[Erinn]] relocate from [[Angel Falls]] and assume control over the [[Quester's Rest]] [[inn]]. This concludes her role in the main portion of the plot.
