A light shield with a cat motif that can be equipped by characters who cannot carry heavier shields, such as female characters and youngsters.
*The original design from ''Dragon Quest VII'' is roughly in the shape of a large cat head, with round pink gems as the cat's eyes and metal studs where its ears and whiskers are located.
*The design from ''Dragon Quest VIII'' is a round buckler with a design of a cartoon cat in the very center. The pink section in the center has three cat paws, while the outside border is yellow with alternating cat paws and stylised cat heads. This design has been used for all other games.
