The Dark robe has a {{Defence}} bonus of +74, increases the wearer's evasion rate by 25%, and can be equipped [[Martial Artist|Martial Artists]], [[Thieves]], and [[Gadabout|Gadabouts]]. One may be found in [[Cantlin]] and another in the fourth [[Treasures n' Trapdoors]] track in [[Kol]]. The dark robe can be sold for 12,375 gold, but it is not recommended to do so as there is a limited amount in the game. It only appears in remake versions of the game.

It has a {{fraction|1|256}} chance of being dropped by [[Swag bagger|Swag baggers]], which is the only way to obtain one in the original Sony PlayStation version. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the robe can also be dropped by [[Robber baron|Robber barons]] at the same rate. It can be sold for 8,250 gold, but item collectors may not wish to do so due to its rarity.

The robe can be sold for 10,500 gold for the first one sold, then drops to 3,200 for the second onward. It can also be made in the [[Alchemy Pot]] and can be mixed to create a [[Phantom mask]].
