==Characteristics==
Great dragons are large, golden-scaled [[Dragon family|dragons]] with a large pair of wings on their back, a long tail, and horns. They are often able to breathe out devastating fire or ice breath, use their claws, fangs, and tails in powerful attacks, while their scales grant them a high degree of protection against the elements. Due to some similarity in colouration and head shape, it is theorised that they are the adult stage of the [[Small fry]], despite the small fries themselves possibly being in their adult stage already. Their monster description in ''X'' states that they are popular even amongst dragonkind, with small fries aspiring to become a great dragon in the future.
