It can be equipped by [[Warrior]]s, [[Priest]]s, [[Thief|Thieves]], [[Minstrel]]s, [[Paladin]]s, [[Ranger]]s, [[Gladiator]]s, [[Item Master]]s, [[Dancer]]s, [[Demon Swordsman|Demon Swordsmen]], [[Pirate]]s, and [[Armamentalist]]s if they have allocated enough points into their Fource skill. In the ''Offline'' version of the game, it can also be equipped by [[Mjoll]], [[Raguas]], [[Hussar]], and [[Duston]].

Like many pieces of armour in ''X'', the iron cuirass gained a counterpart for the legs slot. The entire set consists of the cuirass, a waistguard, a headband, armbands, and shin guards.
