==Characteristics==
Shades originally appeared as a white and grey [[Elemental family|shadow]] with light blue eyes, but was depicted as solid black with orange eye light in the {{Super Famicom}} remake of the third game. When it reappeared in the eighth game, it kept the dark color, but changed its eyes for a shade of blue similar to its original sprite's; this has been the look the creature has kept ever since.
