Kiefer appears as an A-rank character of the Hero family as part of the ''Dragon Quest VII'' event, where he can be recruited during the event's story. He joins the player in Chapter 1, Episode 4: Kiefer and he can be fully awakened by exchanging DQVII medals for Kiefer Crystals in the event's swap shop. Kiefer can be faced in the Fragments of the Forgotten Past boss battle alongside both [[Maribel]] and [[Ruff]].
