Damdara remains a desert town but sandstorms have buried several buildings, further alluding to the settlement's bleak fate. Other aesthetic changes include the addition of American cacti and the removal of paved walkways, adding to the dilapidated atmosphere.

Beyond this the town's purpose as the site where [[orichalcum]] is found has not changed, though it is the only place where [[bandit mail]] can be purchased and there is a [[List of recruitable monsters in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake|hocus-poker disguised as a woman]] on the roof of a home that has been swallowed by the sands.
