Barbarus appears as a S-rank member of the [[Dragon family]] as part of the {{Dragon Quest IX}} event, appearing on his own banner alongside [[Axolhotl]]. He is faced as a boss in Chapter 3, Episode 4: Battle Against Barbarus and Chapter 5, Episode 3: Another Battle Against Barbarus, as well as the Light & Dark Dragon Howl special boss battle alongside his brother [[Greygnarl]]. Barbarus can participate in [[Stella]]'s Battle Road as a party member.
