This town is only seen during the beginning of {{DQ4 Chapter 5}} in the {{NES}} original, but in the remakes there is also a very brief {{DQ4 Prologue}} that takes place in the valley and gives a glimpse of the daily life, with the {{Hero 4}} training, having fun with [[Eliza]], and spending time with their adoptive parents.

The fifth chapter of the game opens with the village's destruction at the hands of [[Psaro the Manslayer]] and his minions, who are hoping to kill the {{Hero 4}} before he can become a threat. However, thanks to the quick thinking and brave sacrifice of his childhood friend [[Eliza]], the {{Hero 4}} survives and begins gathering the other [[Chosen Ones]] around him to take on the forces of [[Nadiria]].
