The Saintess shield offers a defense bonus of +46. The in-game description for the shield erroneously states that it reduces the damage ''by'' two-thirds rather than ''to'' two-thirds.

The Saintess Shield is a 4★ shield that can be equipped by [[Mage]], [[Priest]], and [[Sage]] characters. At level 35, it has a Physical Defence bonus of +83, a Magical Defence bonus of +92, and increases Slash, Fire, and Ice Resistance by 4. Its trait raises Seal Resistance by 40. The shield could be acquired randomly from limited Treasure Hunts. The shield's design is the original design from ''Dragon Quest VIII''.
