Throughout the story, Trode offers wisdom and insight for the party as they travel the world, on the [[Battle Records]] menu. He also refurbishes an [[Alchemy Pot]] he managed to recover from Castle Trodain, as it is an important and invaluable item for crafting new items and weapons.

Trode appears at the [[Quester's Rest]] as a special guest, and will give the {{Hero 9}} various equipment when certain inn requirements are met. His physical appearance is identical to that of his cursed self from {{Dragon Quest VIII}}.
