It provides the highest overall stat growth of any personality. Lothario is the male counterpart in terms of descriptive text, but Lothario has nowhere near as good growth rates as Vamp. At the start of the game, a female hero becomes a vamp by receiving the final test of character in the castle. Before leaving the test, the hero must tell the chancellor a king's orders must be obeyed, and confirm that the orders are set in stone. Other female party members have a chance to be a vamp when recruited as a mage, priest, gadabout, or thief, depending on their stat bonuses. {| class="listTable" ! scope="col" | Class / gender ! scope="col" | Stat bonuses for vamp (chance) |- | Mage female Priest female | * Agility bonus highest, ≤7, wisdom bonus second (1) * Resilience bonus highest, ≤5, wisdom bonus second (3) |- | Gadabout female | * Wisdom bonus highest, 6–9 (4) * Luck bonus highest, ≤5 (6) * Resilience bonus highest, ≤5, agility, wisdom, or luck bonus second (1) * Luck bonus highest, 6–8 (2) |- | Thief female | * Resilience bonus highest, ≤5, agility, wisdom, or luck bonus second (1) |} An existing female character becomes a vamp permanently by reading the Guns'n'Buns book, or temporarily while wearing the garter accessory.
