A Winky plays an important role as a minion to [[Psaro's Pawn]] in {{DQ4 Chapter 1}}. Its duty is to bring the children of [[Strathbaile]] to Psaro's Pawn [[Loch Tur]] after they wore the [[Talaria]] found in [[Auld Well]], a location the children only knows about. [[Psaro's Pawn]]'s plan was to kill the children in the hope that one of them turned out to be the [[Hero (Dragon Quest IV)|Chosen One]] as a child, unaware that they are already grown-up and living in the [[Hidden Valley]]. Winky and [[Psaro's Pawn]] must be fought at the end of [[Loch Tur]] to save the children, serving as the chapter's only boss fight.
