==Trivia==
*Yangus is the first {{Party 8}} member to have already joined the {{Hero 8}} prior to the game's beginning. One could count the presence of [[Carver]] and [[Milly]] during the opening of {{DQ6}}, but that sequence is effectively a playable cutscene and the two aforementioned characters are removed immediately afterwards.
*Yangus is the only character in the original version of {{VIII}} to not hold a personal grudge against [[Dhoulmagus]]; he undertakes the dangerous journey with the {{Party 8}} solely out of gratitude to the guv.
*Throughout the game, Yangus and [[King Trode]] have the recurring gag where the latter appears out of nowhere. Yangus, surprised, will strike an unusual pose and exclaim "Cor Blimey!!!".
**He also calls King Trode "Grandad".
*He is similar to the character of [[Erik]] from {{Dragon Quest XI}}, being both thieves and joining the party first. Both have a soft spot for a particular person close to them ([[Red]] and [[Mia]]), bicker with cursed people, (King Trode and [[Veronica]]), and both seek atonement for past actions. They both become the loyal companion of the Hero for their respective games after certain circumstances (Yangus going back to banditry after recovery; Mia and the cursed [[pirate king's pendant]]).
**He is also similar to [[Dave]] ({{Dragon Quest XI}}), also becoming someone's loyal companion ([[Sylvando]], for Dave) after certain circumstances (the fall of Zwaardsrust, for Dave). Both are voiced by [[Fumihiko Tachiki]] in the Japanese version of their games.
