Ethereal stones have a 10% chance of being found in [[List of treasure map treasure chest ranks in Dragon Quest IX|Rank 9]] blue treasure chests, can be received as a reward for completing [[Template:DQIXQuest/51|Quest #051]]: A Martyr to His Ma, or made in the [[Krak Pot]] by combining an [[Enchanted stone]], a [[Perfect panacea]], and two sprigs of [[Narspicious]]. One is dropped by [[Gadrongo]]. An ethereal stone is also required to complete [[Template:DQIXQuest/151|Quest #151]]: Pushy Peddler. It can be used in the following alchemy recipes:
