Lt Goresby-Purrvis appears as a S-rank {{MFamilies}} of the [[Beast family]] as part of the ''Spring Training! Train with Lt Goresby-Purrvis'' event on his own banner alongside [[Cherreevil blossom]]. Starting with Version 4.0 of the game, he can be scouted normally from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout.

In the game, he is the adoptive father and tutor of [[Purrcival]], a young [[Tigercub]] who aims to be a samurai. Purrvis does not like being called "father" in public, but he does love the fact that Purrcival sees him as a paternal figure. He originally wanted to return Purrcival to his true parents, but unable to find them he ended up taking care of the cub, and teaching him the way of the sword. He can participate in Purrcival's Battle Road as a party member and eventually returned as a boss during the limited {{Dragon Quest IX}} event alongside the rest of the Triumgorate.
