====Lower echelon==== The giant monster for the echelon is a green dragon, lurking in the narrow gap between rock formations on the western side of of the map. The only village in the entire Circle is here, the little settlement of Dragglenook. The community has had a panoply of problems lately though, from a thief stealing several possessions to Gnorbert being separated from his young son Gnibbler by a sudden burst of lava from side of mountain. He pleads with Psaro to save his boy and promises to give him his precious green rock as payment, but alas the thief has filched even that. The prince agrees to lend a hand regardless of this, and Gnorbert explains that the local big hitter, Bernie, is hell-bent on opening the Infernal Gate. Gnorbert is certain that this was the cause of the new lava river and therefor Bernie is bound to still be near the gate in the deep recesses of the Caverns of Conflagration. When exploring the literal hellhole, Psaro and Rose witness a human dealing with a gang of monsters with a contraption of his. The young man reveals himself to be Toilen Trubble and explains that he is a magical researcher who came to Nadiria to pilfer treasure, with Psaro immediately taking umbrage with the thief's capricious attitude. A confrontation nearly takes place with Toilen shows off the green rock he swiped from Gnorbert, but he defuses the situation and heads deeper into the cavern. At the lowest level Psaro and Rose confront Bernie, with the elf asking for him to shut the Infernal Gate due to all the trouble it's caused. The dragon is having none of it, alluding to it being vital to his brothers' plan, and attacks on the spot. Later, back at Gnorbert's hovel, father and son are happily reunited before Toilen enters the scene and flaunts the green rock he stole from the rat. It was indeed a piece of travelite, which he hands over to Psaro. Gnorbert chews him out, but states it was going to be given to Psaro anyways and what's important is that his son is safe. With that burglary wrapped up, Toilen forces himself into the group on the grounds that Psaro's monster team would be the best bodyguards he could hope for on his treasure foraging.
