Magic Burst makes its introduction in this game and it is described as the ultimate spell that is passed down through generations in the magic city of [[Sorceria]]. It can be learned by [[Ashlynn]] through an event at Sorceria. It deals fire breath-type damage to all enemies equal to 3 times the caster's remaining MP and can only be used if the caster has at least 1 MP remaining. Other characters are able to learn the spell by advancing to rank 6 of the [[Liquid metal slime (vocation)|Liquid metal slime]] vocation.

Magic Burst is classified in this game as a skill rather than a spell, likely so that it will be unaffected by [[Bounce]]. [[Mortamor]] can use this spell in his final form, dealing 200~220 damage to the entire party. He will use [[Evil Prayer]] on the following turn to fully restore his MP.
*In remake versions of the game, Magic Burst's damage calculation has been reduced to 2 times the caster's remaining HP, since the HP of all enemies has been reduced by 20%. It can also be learned by [[Mercury]] at level 7.
