Antidotal herbs be purchased for 10 gold each. Since the only character who can use [[Squelch]] in the original NES version of this game is [[Kiryl]], who only appears in the second and final chapters, this item is arguably more useful than it is in many other games. In particular, the fourth chapter has [[funghoul]] enemies which can poison the player and neither of the two Mahabala sisters can heal poison with Squelch in the original NES version of the game.

This doesn't apply to the remakes however, as [[Meena]] was given the Squelch spell as well, which she learns at level 4.
