They were once said to live in harmony with the Ainu and would bring them deer, fish, and other goods, but after a schism, they disappeared. In fantastical depictions of the Korpokkurs, they are small enough to live underneath the leaves of the giant [[Wikipedia:Petasites japonicus|butterbur plant]] and would use its leaves as roofs and umbrellas.
