[[Sir Mervyn]] already knows Bang when he joins the {{Party 7}}. It costs 5 {{MP}} to cast, and damages all enemies between 20~30 points of damage. In the [[Nintendo 3DS]] version of the game, [[Maribel]] learns the spell at level 9 instead of [[Follow Suit|Retaliate]]. It cannot be learned by any vocation. Bang can also be cast by both [[Zev]] and [[Florin|Old Man Riffer]] when they assist the party as NPCs.

On the enemy side, it can be cast by [[cheeky devil]]s, [[scargoyle]]s, [[conkjurer]]s, [[gobbler]]s, [[cardinal Sin]], [[grimoire]]s, [[Strangler fish (Dragon Quest VII)|strangler fishes]], and [[fire fry]]s to deal 15~20 damage to the party.
