It is the first town the [[Hero (Dragon Warrior IV)|hero]]'s party encounters after meeting up with [[Hector]] and crossing the desert.  Aneaux is unique in that it is the only town in any ''[[Dragon Quest]]'' game to have two inns; the owner of one of them tries to get additional business by offering free tours of the village, including the special armor of a legendary hero.
