The '''bag o' tricks''' is a recurring {{MFamilies}} in the {{DQSeries}} that was introduced in ''[[Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D]]''. It is a variation of the [[goodybag]] with a orange-red hue and different treasures hovering around it.

==Characteristics==
The bag o' tricks' red coloration and star emblems give the monster an Eastern Asian theme, distinct from the European influenced designs found throughout the series. As the {{Joker}} spin offs are known for adding more Asian touches to the series, this is not unprecedented. In {{Super Light}} and {{Walk}}, the lucky bag even has a slightly different design, having a Japanese [[Wikipedia:Uchide no kozuchi|lucky hammer]], a small red and white tied rope, [[Wikipedia:Suzu (bell)|bells]], and a [[Wikipedia:O-mikuji#Fortunes|fortune slip]] of paper with the kanji for excellent luck ([[Wiktionary:大吉|大吉]]) written on it hovering around it instead.

Lucky bag first appeared as a common monster from December 2019 to January 2020 as part of the "Looking for the Legendary New Year's Eve" event.

It can be recruited by clearing Round 1 of the Orchesterra Starry Night Tournament on Normal Mode and can be awakened by purchasing its awakening crystals from the Starry Night Decoration Swap Shop. It can participate in [[Thunderbird]]'s Battle Road as a party member.

==Etymology==
The lucky bag is based on the Japanese New Year's custom of ''[[Wikipedia:Fukubukuro|fukubukuro]]'' (ふくぶくろ) in which merchants make small grab bags filled with random goods and sell them at a substantial discount. This is usually done at the beginning of the new year in order to attract new customers to shop at their store.
