The '''Betterfly''' is a monster in the series.

==Characteristics==
Betterflies are large, unusual [[Bug family|moth]]s with a teal, cartoonish dog-like face at the center of their bodies, their maws filled with sharp fangs that they use to bite with. Their wings are dark green with orange spots. In remakes and ''Dragon Quest of the Stars'', the betterflies have a completely different colour scheme, having purple wings, bright green heads, and pink lips. Like their lesser blue cousins, betterflies are able to envelop enemies in illusions by casting '''Dazzle''', and then poison them with their venomous fangs.

Betterfly began appearing in Version 7.0 along with [[Batterfly|Batterflies]]. They once again cast Dazzle and can call in more of themselves for the first time since ''III'', but can now envenomate enemies with a poisonous powder.
