In the original Sony PlayStation version, '''UltraHit''' can be learned by any character who reaches rank 8 of the [[Champion|Godhand]] class. It will deal 600~700 non-elemental damage to a single enemy, minus their {{Defence}} value, for 20 MP. This means that the skill is only effective against [[Metal slime|Metaly]] and MetalyS, as other metal slimes have Defence exceeding 700.
* In the Nintendo 3DS and smartphone versions, Blade of Ultimate Power takes on different properties; it now deals 500~600 damage that ignores Defence and any other damage reduction factors such as [[Defending Champion]], making it useful for hunting [[Metal slime family|metal slimes]]. The damage will also increase by 50% if the user is equipped with a weapon that is more effective against certain monsters, such as the [[Dragonsbane]]. The {{Hero 7}} will display a unique animation when using the skill. Starting with Version 4.5, Blade of Ultimate Power can be learned by investing 200 skill points into the One-Handed Swords skill. It inflicts 480% damage to a single enemy, costs 8 MP to use, and has a charge time of 120 seconds. The attribute is dependent on the user's weapon.

Blade of Ultimate Power is a secret skill that can be learned by the {{Hero 11}} for 36 skill points through the ''Swordmastery'' panel in his Character Builder after it expands in act two. It requires all four of the surrounding panels to be unlocked first and is located at the very top of his Character Builder. It costs 48 MP to use, and will deal up to 680~720 non-elemental damage to one enemy. Unlike previous versions, the skill does not work on metal slimes but it can be used with two swords for extra damage. The skill can also be used by [[Mordegon|Mordegon, Lord of Shadows]] in the first boss battle against him.
* In the 2D mode of the game, the skill's animation is identical to the original one from the Sony PlayStation version of ''Dragon Quest VII''.

When used, Auster is summoned from the [[Shrine of Mysteries]]. He then uses his Water Mark to call forth the Okeanos Sword from the ocean. Auster leaps to grab it, then charges it with green energy and delivers a powerful slash.
