Burland is a country in DQ4 Ragnar McRyan's home, it is located in the northerly reaches of the main continent, and is the setting of DQ4 Chapter 1 of the game. ==Appearances== ===DQ4=== Burland is the central location for the territory, with King Burnard currently ruling over it and Strathbaile. It was founded by Roburt the Burruce who defend it when it was a small hamlet, due to the aid of a special shield. When the women of Strathbaile explain that their children have disappeared and beg for help, the King dispatches all of his soldiers to look for the youths. Ragnar McRyan is also deployed, and uncovers the greater mystery behind the disappearances at the Loch Tur west of Strathbaile. The King keeps the taxes down, much to the benefit and approval of his citizens, but this also means that his soldiers are stuck with the bare minimum gear and must purchase better armaments on their own. The King's grandfather once attempted to woo the Queen of Femiscrya, offering up the Zenithian shield as a gift. Additionally, Maya Mahabala's fame extends to Burland Castle as one soldier travels to Laissez Fayre to see her performance. ====Shops & services==== Clear Clear ====Treasures==== The following are available in the castle, and all but the gold requires the Thief's Key: *750 gold coins *Iron helmet *Seed of agility *Seed of magic *Seed of strength These items are found in the town: *3 gold coins *5 gold coins *25 gold Coins *Medicinal herb (3) *Mini medal (requires the Ultimate Key) *Plain clothes ====Nearby MFamiliess==== {| border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" width="100%" | valign="top" width="50%" | =====(DQ4 Chapter 1)===== *Slime *Scissor beatle *Wiggly *Air rat *Bubble slime (nocturnal) | valign="top" width="50%" | =====()===== *Abracadabrador *Beleth *Bulldozer *Eoraptor *Grim rider *Pocus poppet *Skeleton soldier (Called by Grim rider) |} ====Remake changes==== *After the Ultimate Key is obtain (Nintendo DS version) or the boss at Zamoksva is defeated (Cell phone version), the following recruits for the Pioneer Town can be found here: **Bones who is in the Church. **Prelvis Esley who is in the Inn. ==Other languages== ==Map & Gallery== <center><gallery> DQ IV NES Burland.gif|NES map.
