'''Cameron's Codex''' is a new feature which was introduced to the [[Nintendo 3DS]] version of {{DQ8}}. It details the photographic challenges issued by [[Cameron Obscura]], a traveler who wishes to see the world through the lenses of the {{Hero 8}} and the {{Party 8}}. It utilizes the {{3DS}} version's new photo taking feature. Cameron will give prizes to the player if they have completed a certain amount of challenges and receive stamps for each one. These prizes include rare and valuable items.
