'''Strike''' skills is a fan term that refers to miscellaneous, damage-causing abilities within {{DQ6}}, {{DQ7}}, {{DQ8}}, and the first two ''[[Dragon Quest Monsters (series)|Dragon Quest Monsters]]'' games. The classification within those five titles contains both martial arts techniques such as [[Knuckle Sandwich]] and rock-based attacks like [[Boulder Toss]], with the hypothesis behind the shared category being that a fighter would have to have fists of stone/rock-hard hands to deal such damage barehanded. 

The trait was seemingly retired in 2009 with {{DQ9}} introducing a proper Earth-element within the game's programming and the martial arts skills being calculated differently, with subsequent titles carrying this standard forward until 2024. The release of {{DQ3HD}} revived the dormant skill category and greatly expanded upon it, with nearly every physical attack skill utilizing it for damage calculation.
