Creeping Shadow shares a name with a track on the ''[[Dragon Quest VIII]]: Journey of the Cursed King'' Original Soundtrack. It is a theme commonly associated with Dhoulmagus, playing in key moments such as the death of [[Abbot Francisco]] and the first battle with him in the [[Dark Ruins]], as well as playing during the first portion of the battle against [[Rhapthorne]]. The theme has gone on to reused in other games, including ''[[Dragon Quest X]]'' and ''[[Dragon Quest XI]]''.
